Product Description DAP FireBreak Spray Foam is a flame resistant, all purpose, Class 1 fire-retardant foam sealant designed to exceed industry testing standards and provide fire protection in high risk areas. Its self extinguishing formula works by eliminating oxygen flow through service penetrations, critical points where fire can spread rapidly. FireBreak effectively fills and seals gaps in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical penetrations, as well as joints, partitions, stud walls, stair stringers, soffits, and drop ceilings. FireBreak Foam blocks air infiltration to reduce flame spread within walls and ceilings and is V-0 rated for the UL94 Flammability Test. It also delivers excellent performance in UL-175 and modified ASTM E-814 evaluations. Bright orange foam color ensures easy identification after application, and the can includes a stop-and-restart adapter plus an extra straw for reusability across multiple projects. FireBreak should be applied in temperatures between 60 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal results. Works for interior and exterior applications. Review: Very good fire protected foam spray. - This foam is really good and it is fire rated. I tested using lighter fire and it did not catch fire, instead it turned black slowly by buring but it will not cause fire.
Review: Landlord approved lol - Used it to seal around radiator pipes. Worked well, and is up to fire code. Landlord required this since its a wall penetration, and this did the job.

**Q: If applied to wood or similar flat surface with a brush, will it become flat or does it stay a large foamy mass? I want to coat the interior of my firepit with something. Is this a good bet?**
A: This is not fireproof at all.  It is used to slow the spread of fire better than regular foam.  If exposed to high heat it will burn, decompose.  There are 2 part high heat ceramic coatings that can be professionally applied for industrial applications.

This foam is really good and it is fire rated. I tested using lighter fire and it did not catch fire, instead it turned black slowly by buring but it will not cause fire.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not easy to use

Not easy to use, or more precisely it's not easy to use accurately. However, it works as advertised and doesn't catch fire like some other expanding foams. I sprayed a dollop and tried to burn it by applying direct flame and it smokes a little and turns black but it isn't flammable. The applicator is more or less accurate but the foam does drip and is quite messy. However, it did the job and I would recommend it.
