If I purchase another pair in the future they will be 9 1/2 just to relieve that feeling of tightness by the end of a day of wearing. I put that down to having done quite a lot of walking on rough ground. This second pair had much less to contend with and the same faults appeared. Their lifetime guarantee has not been tested but I do have a mind to claim but what does a lifetime guarantee even mean? What is less debatable is their claim to be waterproof. They are not. I usually take a 9.5 in shoes size, but I take a size 11 in the Berghaus boot and they fit perfectly for length and width. Very comfortable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Hiking shoes - Actually waterproof *by A***H on 9 November 2023* Great all year round hiking boots but they have a really annoying flaw. Good: Comfortable Actually Waterproof in very wet conditions. (Wet grass and flowing water) Breathable as well! (Most waterproof boots are not very breathable) Good grip Lightweight Bad: The shoe has a big dip above the heel which i think is there to make the shoes easier to take on and off; when walking, I constantly flick stones, mud and water into the back my shoe. This feels horrible, especially this time of year. And sometimes stones get wedged between the back of my foot and the shoe which REALLY hurts.
