Honestly, I think I prefer the traditional wooden peel when using my home pizza oven. However, this one works just fine, especially on smaller personal sized pies since the peel itself is only 12" wide and 14" long. You do have to put this peel together as it ships in a smaller square box...it's not a big deal...the handle attaches to the peel and there is a silicone sleeve that you can put on part of the handle to protect your hand from the heat. Most times, this probably would not be an issue for you, but if you use it a lot it will get quite hot. Aluminum transmits heat very well and the tubular handle and the flat peel surface are made with anodized aluminum. (advantage to wood here). The entire tool is fairly lightweight and easy to handle, though the smaller peel surface does have some issues with larger sized pizzas. For the price it's a decent and durable option.
