Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, it’s reliable and gets the job done without any issues. Overall, a solid reel that works exactly as it should.
Review: Excellent Ultralight 1000 Reel - Paired with a Fuji Panfish Ultralight rod and SOS Trout Magnet 2lb test, I’m very happy with this reel. I was using a Shimano Sienna 500 reel previously, but wanted to upgrade to a 1000 reel with a stronger bail and more line capacity. The drag is fantastic, and you don’t have to make large adjustments to dial in the feel. I will go by 1/4 turns in or out. The bail flip is solid and gives a good “pop feedback. Lastly, the matte finish looks nice but also feels nice when handled. I’m not a fan of chrome and glossy reels. Definitely an A++. Good value considering features vs. price.

**Q: What rod matches the color of this Stryker green reel? Looks like a rod of the same color in the 2nd picture but can't find anything**
A: Not sure. I don't try to match rods and reels by color, but rather by need.

**Q: What size would be the most ideal for salmon and steelhead?**
A: The size 2000 would be fine; however, this reel's gear ratio is too slow for river fishing. I'd suggest the Valiant Eagle series in size 2000. The Valiant Eagle series has a much faster gear ratio; therefore, it is more suitable for river fishing in my experience.

**Q: Can I switch handle sides?**
A: Yes

**Q: I noticed the blue one (spindrift) has a higher line capacity and is IPX5 waterproof over the green one. Ate these 2 different reels?**
A: I believe they are the same reel, just different colors, both are the 3000.

This spinning reel is worth every dime I paid for it. Good quality, looks well made and smooth rewind action. I thought I’d use a braided blend fishing line ( 8 lbs test ) and can’t wait to try it out. These reels ( I bought two ) are well made.
