My old standard Kindle 10th generation is alive and well, even the battery still lasts weeks. I was trying to be e-waste cognizant, thinking that I don’t really need to change, etc. But with the Thanksgiving promotion, I decided to pull the trigger. … Feels like a step-change! Haven’t noticed any drawbacks yet, frankly. Despite some reviews I did not notice any un-uniformity of the light. Warm light is a huge difference for you eyes if you like to read in the dark. The loading speed and page turning finally feels like more or less modern technology, not the XX-century. It’s swift, almost no delay and even has slight animation). Wireless charging! You can now charge almost everything on the single q-charger. USB-C is also there and charges very fast, mine went from 41% to 87% in ~20 minutes. The screen is noticeably crisper, pictures are finally pictures, not a blurred grey spot. Oh, and don’t worry about the size-the difference is there, but I’d call it negligible. I went for the Signature edition, as the price difference is not that high. If you’re still hesitating, don’t!
