Review: Great fire starter. - These are great items. The flame is robust and gets a fire going in my wood stove quick, unlike the old lighter or matches, it supplies enough flame to get heavy paper and kindling burning quickly . It's also great for lighting my gas grill when the igniter fails. They're cool looking and small enough to put in your pocket (just make sure the starter trigger is locked) easy to refill with butane refill containers, and is easy to grip and ignite. I haven't tried soldering with it , but it looks like the flame is hot enough to do that as well. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a reliable and fast way to start fires in the home or for camping/outdoors/survival uses.

They are sturdily made and don’t feel cheap like a lot of torch lighters at this price point. They don’t hold a lot of butane, so they need to be refilled more often than other torches I’ve seen. That being said, for my use they are ideal. I’ve never had to refill in the middle of a project. I just top it off before I start and I’m good to go. The trigger mechanism is easy to use and lights the flame on the first try most the time. I’ve never had to strike it more than twice to get a flame. The flame adjuster works pretty well. I typically keep it about half way and it works for me. Full flame is fairly long and over kill for anything I’ve needed to do. Overall I think that for the price, it is an outstanding torch lighter. For occasional use I highly recommend this product. If you are looking for something for more extended use at a time, I suggest a blow torch (you can get one from any hardware store) as this torch is not meant for long term continuous use.
