I bought the XL as our cat is 12.5lbs. THe is an outdoor stray that we have been parenting since December. Finally he is using something we bought him! We have beeen slowly working on getting him accustomed to the indoors. Its been raging hot and he has been coming indoors for longer periods and become familiar with the scratcher but only for seconds at a time. I am shocked that when I opened the door to let him in today he walked straight to it climbed and curled up. That's a win!!

My cat loves it. I was not finished putting it together and he was already scratching on it! He rolled over and rubbed his scent on it to claim it (I have another cat so he wanted to claim it). Good construction. Clear instructions. nice little tool I have now too. Thanks!
