I don't think there's a single wasted word or sentence. Each concept is well laid out without unnecessary repetition usually found in textbooks. The chapters are short but packed full of information; I learn more from one 16-page chapter in this than the 60-page chapters in any of my other textbooks. Nearly every concept is clearly illustrated with brief but poignant case examples. The chapter summaries and exercises are exactly on point as well.I really can't say enough about this book. For a textbook, it's amazing. I wish all textbooks were written so well! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Overall helpful book *by R***C on June 13, 2014* This book was used for my college course this summer. It was my first law class, and I had a lot to learn. I believe this book provides a good basic introduction to the basics of law. Although I am not planning to be a lawyer, I definitely learned a lot and have found that I am already utilizing some of the information I retained throughout the course.The book is straightforward and an easy read. It's not the most exciting book, but then again, I don't think many law books are. I took a look at one of the earlier editions, and this book is definitely more concise so for that I'm glad.I received this book in basically "Very Good Condition". The front cover was once lightly bent in half so the crease could still be seen. However, the pages were all very clean, neat, and intact as well as the binding.Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. If your professor assigns this book for your course, don't hesitate. The book isn't too bad. I've definitely read more boring (history) books. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good book, bad business. *by K***N on December 30, 2014* I rented this book, it served its purpose. I'm grateful. It helped me to master the class, because the teacher wasn't the best suited for teaching the class although his experience in the field suggested otherwise. What I'm not happy about is the fact that I received the book in a shabby condition. I found out in class that the spine of the book had been glued together before it had been sent to me. In short, I paid for the rental, and then had to BUY this book because of someones' shady practices. Outside of that?
