It can carry magazines or hardcover books when unsnapped. It has handy front pockets that allow a few items that would get lost in the big compartment. The velcro things that hold it to the walker are easy to use and strong enough to stay on even when it's carrying several items. When we close up the walker the bag does not get in the way. My grandmother has had it several months. Although it gets a lot of wear and tear it's not gotten visibly dirty or stained.
