Fully frozen meat to fully defrosted faster than I would have believed! *by S***B on May 1, 2019* I buy A LOT of things on Amazon, and so I only write reviews for the things that are exceptional. My son got this for me for Christmas, and I had pretty much assumed it was going to be an ‘as seen on TV’ piece of crap. I was very surprised by how well it did the job, and can’t believe others say it doesn’t work. I haven’t had it defrost things in 18 or 30 minutes like some other reviewers said, but then again I’ve only used it where I had pretty much the entire surface covered with meat so it may work like that with only one piece, or two smaller items. But it DID work, and very well. I have used it to defrost four one-inch pork chops, and it took about 2 hours. Four one-and-a-half-inch-thick, three-inch-diameter filet mignon took 2 hours. Two very large chicken breasts took 1.5 hours. A one-pound package of ground chicken next to a one-pound package of ground sausage took about 1.5 hours. This is all without turning them over. Chicken and ground meat defrost faster than chops and steak. For me, this means that I can decide what meat to have for dinner at 4 or 5 and have it fully defrosted from ice-block frozen to ready to cook by the time I’m making dinner. I am not great at remembering to take meat out to defrost the night before or the morning of, so this is amazingly useful to me. I would highly recommend this product, especially since it’s very inexpensive for the job it does. I agree with others that a bigger one would be nice, but I’m just going to buy another so I can defrost any amount or size. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works fine *by Y***Y on July 8, 2018* It worked as said. I think it took about 3 hours to thaw out frozen chicken...I had the tray full, so that might have slowed down the process. It is a little smaller than I need, I think. I might have to get another one. I had 4 thighs and 8 tenders and it was all the way full. It does speed up the process...I might try with some burgers later this week. The owners of this are very helpful and are great to work with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The tray stays cool. Per USDA guidelines *by D***F on June 18, 2018* I do a lot of food prep. I've defrosted 86 grams of pre-cut sirloin strips and it took 18 minutes. The following day, I defrosted 940g of USDA beef chuck roast and it took 50 minutes. Next, I defrosted two 140g frozen AHI tuna steaks and it took 18 minutes. The tray stays cool. Per USDA guidelines, don't keep raw meat/poultry at room temp for more than two hours. I cook mine immediately after they thaw. This defrosting tray is a great addition to my kitchen. I wash this with hot soapy water to be safe from cross contamination.
