Review: Easy to Install, Now just waiting for the Hummers - We have owned and LOVED the Birfy for birds for about 4 months and the AI recognition has taught us so much about the birds I have always loved to see in the yard. Seeing them up close and now knowing their breed, I look them up and learn more about them. So, I just had to order the Birdfy for Hummingbird Feeder too. It came with everything you need to install, however, my husband used better screws since we live near the coast. Extra silicone parts to change out during cleanings. Installation was a breeze. Clear instructions. The black plastic ant moat was not mentioned in the instructions. We are members of the Netvue Birdfy Community facebook page so a quick search of the group posts helped us understand what it was. I would say only one suggestion for Birdfy. The cord is very long. I understand some may need it to be, but we did not. I would suggest including two sizes of the cord. One about half the length as an additional would have been great. Otherwise, we wrapped the overage over and over around the chain and it looks ok. We have it up and we are now waiting on the Hummers to find it. I posted extra photos of a Painted Bunting and Eastern Bluebird from my other Birdfy bird feeder as an example of what we are waiting for now at the Hummer feeder. Actually, while typing, I got a notification of my first hummer landing. Pics now included. By the way the Birdfy app is fabulous. AI ID is about 97% accurate. And the link to learn more about the breed is so helpful. Although I love my bird books also. The camera is very sensitive so I filter out just the birds, so I see only hummers when I am reviewing the activity, that is a nice feature. But, I love watching the birds in real time even when I am not home and getting the alerts through the day as to what is arriving at my feeder. And added bonus, the camera is a great security backup too. Best invention for bird lovers ever. Thank you, Birdy!
Review: So frustrating to set up - Update: The hummingbird feeder would not take a charge this spring after sitting in the basement for the winter. I contacted Birdfy tech support and they ran through some test and said to mail it back. I did. After they got it back, they said they couldn't replace it because it had already been refunded - which it hadn't. I did buy and return / have the feeder replaced 4 times to finally get one that worked. I sent Birdfy a note explaining that they were looking at the wrong part of the order and I did in fact pay for a feeder after all the returns / replacements. They never replied, They took the broken feeder I sent them and never sent a replacement. If there were 0 stars, that's where I would be. The product is cool when it works, but is basically a source of frustration and customer service is garbage. Original review: I have 3 Birdfy devices, a nest, a feeder, and a hummingbird feeder. When they work, they are really cool. The bird ID system is wrong about half the time, but I don't really care about that. They are pretty fun, and you can share with friends and family. Why 1 star? Getting them to work is a crap shoot. To get the nest to work, I had to return the first one and get a replacement. The first one kept crapping out trying to update firmware until it just wouldn't turn on. I sent it back to desertcart and the replacement updated firmware easily. To get the feeder to work, I had to return the first one. The first one just wouldn't connect to the Internet. 2nd one connected on the first try. Then the hummingbird feeder saga. Well I'm on my third one. First wouldn't connect to the Internet at all. Second would connect but would get into an endless loop trying to update firmware. I had high hopes for the third one. It connected and did the first firmware update from 1878 to 1926. Then it tried to update again and it crapped out. Can't get it to connect to the network at all now. My 4th hummingbird feeder got to the same place as the third. It updated to 1926, but when trying to do the next update to 1988 it died and would not connect to the Internet. I rebooted my router, my phone, and the device countless times. Then I tried changing my network password. I changed one digit from a 2 to a 3, and tried to get the hummingbird feeder to reconnect to the network. To my utter surprise it did and had 1988 firmware loaded. It asked to update to 1996 and I allowed it. It is back online and seems to be working. I'll have to reset my network password and hope I can get it to connect again because otherwise I have to change the password for every other device in my network and that isn't gonna happen... To help your chances make sure you are trying to connect to a 2.4ghz only network, be prepared to reset with the little pin tool, and pray to whatever God you believe in it connects on the first try or two. The live chat is useless. Probably more than useless because they just waste your time. They basically confirm your network is 2.4ghz and have you reset the thing 15 times, all while taking 3 to 5 minutes between responses. They will eventually offer to email you a file you can put on a micro SD card to update the firmware - good luck with that I couldn't get it to work. Or they will "reply via email in 24 to 48 hours" and instead take a week to give you an RMA for something you can just return to desertcart. The help people said they have all kinds of connectivity issues with firmware prior to 1931, but you can't get the damn things to connect to update the firmware if the firmware is older than that. I have spent too many hours trying to get these to work. I think the hummingbirds will have to starve.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy to add this to our Birdfy family of feeders!

I was looking for a second feeder for our hummingbirds, because they can be so territorial. But I also love watching them, and we only have one window that allows for a feeder to hang in front of it. We already have a Birdfy AI feeder + solar panel for the songbirds in the neighborhood, so I already trusted that the video was high quality and the battery long-lasting. So I purchased this feeder as a gift to my husband (since he's the one who takes care of filling the feeders!). Right out of the box it was simple and straightforward to set up. And my wifi reaches far enough that I was able to hang it on our shed near the house. The solar panel gets lots of afternoon sun, just like our other Birdfy feeder, and I haven't had to charge it once in the month we've had the hummingbird feeder up. The cleaning brush is a nice addition, and it's even simpler to clean than our regular feeder. The photo and video quality are wonderful, and it's so fun to check in on the app a couple of times a day to see what the hummers have been up to. We're even able to identify a few of our regulars now. We did have to adjust the direction of the feeder a little--make sure the camera isn't pointing straight at the sun, or you'll have more of a silhouette than a clear bird pic! This feeder has been a big hit in our household, and has solidified us as fans of the Birdfy brand. We've had the songbird feeder up and running for more than a year, and are now wondering what we'll add to the collection next...
