 A perfect complement to special meals, holidays and family gatherings, Long Grain & Wild Rice is a classic combination of wild and long grain rice blended with onions, garlic and spices.  Near East® Long Grain & Wild Rice Pilaf mix is Kosher Certified *OU*.   Whether it's a busy weeknight or a special occasion, rice pilafs are a perfect complement to any meal.  Pilaf is typically a blend of rice, spices and orzo pasta.  Pilafs can also have ingredients added such as other grains, nuts, fruits, vegetables, meat or seafood -- the variations are as endless as your creativity!  Each Near East® Pilaf comes with a separate packet containing a unique blend of herbs, spices and other special ingredients to create an authentic flavor from around the world!  
 
 
  
  
   Directions
   
  
   Range Top: 1. In medium saucepan, bring 1-3/4 cups water and 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil just to a boil. 2. Stir in rice and contents of spice sack. Return to a boil. 3. Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until most of water is absorbed. 4. Fluff pilaf lightly with fork before serving. Makes 3 cups. Microwave: 1. In round 2-quart microwavable glass casserole, combine rice, contents of spice sack, 3 cups water and 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil. 2. 
   Microwave:  Uncovered, at high 30 to 33 minutes or until most of water is absorbed (Microwave ovens may vary. Adjust times as needed). 3. Let stand about 5 minutes or until all water is absorbed. 4. Fluff pilaf lightly with fork before serving. 
   Low Fat: Follow package directions, except omit butter or olive oil and add additional 3 tablespoons water. High Altitude Preparation: At high altitudes, increase water to 2-3/4 cups and cooking time to 40 minutes.
