Review: excellent product, long term result....EXCELLENT!! - excellent product. We'll see in about a year how well it performs in the long run but so far the thickness is just right and the included applicator is convenient. I'd compare the thickness to be slightly thinner than honey but significantly thicker than normal paint. It *might* depend on your location but here in the tropics, it can be applied straight from the can. Its not too runny, not too thick, its just about perfect to allow it to get into little nooks ang crannies that need sealed. I usually want to reapply after a few hours to have the thickness i think i need on the inner wood of the cut as those sections are usually "planed-like" smooth from my ARS saw, thus it tends to spread thin initially on those areas.... Sometimes i go for a third coating when the wood is moist which also tends to dilute and thin the paint. March 3, 2017 update: so far so so good and im pretty much sold on it. Ive read these sealer or paint products arent needed and that its better for the tree to "naturally heal itself" but based on experience, using this definitely makes a difference in speeding up the healing while minimizing rot. Before i had this product, I once cut the 1.5" diameter top of a durian tree to a branch and it eventually rotted and created a weak point for the top branch due to the rotting wound. I did a very similar cut on another tree but used this sealer afterwards and the difference is night and day. Several months later, theres minimal rotting, if at all, and i can see the tree callous closing the wound better and faster. Ill likely buy again when mine runs out. July 16 2018 UPDATE Still completely sold on it. At first I thought I needed to reapply this until the tree completely enclosed the wound with callus but that seems unnecessary. Even though the bark will stretch over time and expose bare bark on the stretched portions of the bark as it develops callus over the open wound, by then, it seems like the open wound has developed a protective layer underneath it's surface to prevent it from rotting. I didn't cut the wound open to verify this but that's just my guess based on the fact that the wound doesn't dry up and disintegrate as it did in untreated wounds in the past. Other people may have other experiences so definitely this is a product to atleast try because it May work for you as it did for me. Thank you for the makers of this excellent product!! Definitely highly recommended you try it!
Review: Good Stuff - Stuff works GREAT! Keeps my big old pine tree from weeping sap. Small can goes a long way.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: i had to cut some low hanging pine branches. Now the sap is making a mess on everything underneath. Will this product seal sap leakage?**
A: Hello, Ideally you should have sealed the cut immediately after cutting it. However, since sap can drip for months after cutting a branch, here is what you can do. Use an old plastic bag or a rag that you can toss afterward. Clean off as much sap as you can from the "wound", then slather the sealer on... wait an hour, and then apply a second coat. That should do it. Sap on hands and other surfaces can easily be removed with rubbing alcohol, just fyi. Good luck, I hope this helps

**Q: Is this truly safe for roses? Some experts advise agaisnt using black tree sealer and suggest white glue or nail polish (which is hard to apply).**
A: There's been a move away from this type of product over the last couple of decades that includes nail polish. The product still does have its place. The most important thing about pruning your roses is to make sure that you are cleaning your tools between each plant. If the cuts are low to the ground or near a road, I would lean towards a sealer.

**Q: Will this product prevent "junk trees" from overtaking my ornamentals & blueberry bushes?**
A: You, like myself, are looking for good, old-fashioned tree paint. I’m having a hard time finding it myself. These answers are not geared toward my problem. Good luck.

**Q: Can this be used on olive tress with tiny holes made by burrowing bettles?**
A: This product is used to seal "wounds" on trees, such as after cutting branches. It seals the wood, so no bacteria can get in, and it also stops the sap from oozing out. In the case of olive tree beetle infestation??? I don't know, but it certainly would seal up the holes. I cannot say if the beetles would then die inside, or if they would burrow deeper to find an escape. It would be a tedious task to seal all the bore holes. But worth a try. The product is a sticky, black paste. Wear gloves!!!!!!
