Review: Pretty good Headphones in my opinion - Well, originally i owned an Creative EP-630, and that Earphone alone was top notch. Compared to my old earphones and headphones that doesn't provide any noise cancelling ear buds, the Creative EP-630 had a really top of the category sound and is really worth the price. And originally buying it at the price of 7 quid, now its at 10 quid looking at how high the demand of the existing headphone created by Creative Tech. But sadly mine got broken, still works but you need to spin the earphone around and around until it starts to work again and i thought it was mainly caused by being pulled up. And was literally my own fault for sleeping while using it knowing i really move alot while asleep i probably pulled the wires connected to the earphone's causing it to malfunction. Thats when i though of buying new Earphones and said, why not try something new? then i found this JVC HAFX1X Xtreme as a recommendation. And in my opinion it is a decent headphone together with the EP 630 that i used to use. Although it has it draw backs compared to the EP 630. Mainly the HAFX1X Pro's: >Aesthetically it looks really nice together with that red and black color's >>The wire is decent in length and the wire is solid copper and pretty stiff they havent tangled that much for me so far which is good >>>The sound quality is good as well and its as good as the EP 630 >>>> Originally both this JVC HAFX1X and the the EP 630 had the same price so i guess it was just a matter of changing the prices but both earphones perform great! >>>>and the Noise cancelling works pretty well! but avoid using them while crossing the road! or riding a bicycle/motorcycle Yes i think this is a good value for money, But together with The pro's on all existing products, they will most of the time also have the Con's, but this con's are mainly things that i found after using it now for 2 weeks. Con's: >well ive read some stuff on the reviews section and did found people saying the bass is rather too much, and i guess i have to agree with this. Depending on the soundtrack's i play and mostly they are Progressive rock, Melodic Rock, Alternative Rock, Psychedelic rock, etc. etc. and mostly instrumental's mainly listening to them while walking or doing something and making the things i do (walking, reading, Jogging etc) as the vocal for t he instrumental i mostly listen. The Bass is too much that the other sound and tunes are being overshadowed by the base. Also when i do have soundtracks with vocal, again that vocal is overshadowed by the bass, you barely hear other sound since the bass is beating that hard. But in some of the tracks i listen too the Bass doesn't act up to them. >> the wire is probably too stiff and as always i try to tape the wire on the 3.5mm audio jack to avoid it being strained when accidentally being pulled or pressed, since its the main reasons why my headphones or earphones starts to stop working. Mainly because of the wire getting pulled. Its just that i feel its more prone to getting damage from the inside from getting pulled because the wire is more stiff (solid copper) and that its also stiff on the 3.5mm audio jack to wire connection. Anyways its just me, overall this Earphones are good! Currently using it but still gonna get myself a new Pair of Creative EP 630 though before that version ran's out and before its prices sky rockets! But yes both Earphones are of top quality! And ! i don't suggest using earphones listening to soothing soundtracks while falling asleep! its imminent death for the good earphones! :<
Review: Excellent product for the price. Very loud! - Having just bought this set of earphones & played about with them for 2 days, I thought I would give them one of my typically subjective long-winded yet dispassionate reviews. I somehow lost my previously-loved Creative EP 630 earphones, which are re-badged Sennheisers, btw, so I needed something to replace the atrocious Apple earpods supplied with my iPod & to listen to & watch iPlayer TV on my Kindle Fire HD. These fit the bill precisely. The JVC plastic carton in which theyre supplied needs a chainsaw to open, as has been previously mentioned, but after 10 minutes of hacking, eventually youre presented with the product. The actual ear canal phones are default-supplied with medium sized silicon ear-inserts on, which fit my earholes perfectly, but if youve super-small or gigantic lugholes, a pair of small & larger ones are supplied. The supplied case is also jolly useful, & unlike one of the revevers pics suggests, the actual earphones do fit inside the case quite happily, along with the wire, as theres not much point in leaving the breakable bits outside the case, is there? Anyway..... The phones are a lot more durable-looking than my lost Creative/Sennheisers & the ear-canal bits go further inside my ear, so as effectively cut off outside noise & not fall out when I mow the lawn....they go in quite a long way & are supremely comfortable to wear. The wire is red. Now, never having heard of Dr. Dre, & his no-doubt super products & "music" , yet being aware of the brand through reviews of this product, I have yet to be questioned about whether or not theyre "Dres" by my septuagenarian neighbours whilst outside in the garden. The wires are twice the girth of my Creatives & Apple earphones, very robust & do not tangle & twist about themselves, which is a major plus compared to other thin-wired ones. Nor do they transmit rustly noises when touched. However, they are red, so be warned! The Sound. They are VERY LOUD. So turn down your volume before playing a track, then crank it up to taste. The base is punchy but not overtly overwhelming & drums particularly crisp & noticeable & the sound drills into your head very nicely, with good stereo separation. The higher frequency sounds are a tad exaggerated & marginally rough at full volume to my taste and the way these phones have been configured clearly muddies the midrange a bit. I used to be an audiophile, with fancy hifi setup & so on & highly critical, but Im not so fussy now. But hey.....theyre 13 quid right now & you can always adjust the equalizer on your device to compensate, cant you? Ive been assured by my wife that theres no external sound leakage also, even with the volume at 11. These things really go quite far into your ear, & probably also loosen any irritating earwax problem you may have, eventually, so thats another plus. On my Kindle Fire HD watching TV programmes, the sound settles down, turned to mediumish & the ambient sounds in the production are faithfully produced & the stereo stunningly rendered. Im very pleased with this purchase, & believe me, they beat the Creative 630s hands down in the budget stakes, stay in your ear whilst mowing the lawn & probably when running. I wouldnt know about the latter as I dont think running is a good idea unless youre being pursued by a zombie, but thats just me. For the price, an excellent choice, & the funky little box they supply means you shouldnt really lose them in your bag, if you remember to take the little box with you, that is. All in all, an excellent product at a very reasonable price.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have a mic?**
A: No they dont. If you need mic and volume control i recommend the Betron DC950 earphones. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Betron-Headphones-Definition-Replaceable-BlackBerry-Black-Mic-Volume-Control/dp/B00N771OEE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1409915126&sr=8-3&keywords=dc+950

**Q: Can these earphones be used when making a call. Are you able to talk to the person with the earphones in or do you have to take them out.**
A: Yes you can, but you will use the mic on your phone and the sound comes through the headphones. You can leave them plugged in.

**Q: Is a case case included?**
A: Yes, come with a small black box to store the extra ear buds and headphones in

**Q: Are these the older (better) version with the thick cable? Or the cheaper flimsy version with thinner cable?**
A: It is the thicker cable but its not as soft and flexible as my older pair

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pleasantly Surprised With These!
*by J***S on 28 November 2014*

Bought these earphones as my last, rather expensive pair were put through the washing machine and broke.. Packaging: The packaging is actually very reasonable for earphones of this price. They come in a heat sealed plastic package (the one that is a pain to open) but at least you know they are sealed in there well. They are further enclosed in the carry case which is pictured. Accessories: The earphones, as mentioned, come with a solid, very strong plastic case. This seems really durable and would certainly keep the earphones safe from everyday life. There are 3 sets of earbuds that come with the earphones, they are of good quality. I tried to rip one of them just as a test, I couldn't do it! If they got a small nick or cut in them of any sort, due to the nature of the rubber, they would tear very easily however. Sound Quality: I was actually rather surprised with the quality of these earphones. I tried them with 3 different devices: HTC 8S with Beats Audio: (mp3 format) I tried a range of tracks with varying levels of bass, mids and very high treble ranges. They performed very well. On the more 'bassy' House/Dance tracks i could really feel the bass kick when i turned them up. It also performed well when i played a more classical/opera style track. It was nowhere near hi-fi quality, but it did well. HP Envy Laptop with Beats audio: (WAV, FLAC) The sound from my laptop playing more high quality audio files was noticeably better. It always is though. I did a comparison test with the same track, played in both mp3 and FLAC. The flac file surprised me so much! These little earphones really pack a punch in a range of music! Custom PC running Realtek audio chipset: (mp3, FLAC) The sound from my pc using the on-board audio was noticeably poorer, these buds just don't seem to match well with lower end audio chipsets. Verdict: For someone who usually only likes higher end earphones, I am pleased to say that these are really good 'bang for the buck.' Especially heavy bass, great for people who are especially into their 'banging tracks' (pardon the lack of jargon) but overall i would say these are a recommended budget buy!
