One hat was double stranded. Another Triple Stranded. The tape yarn is soft enough to crochet with, tough enough to be a bag or hat. I’ve bought a lot of this yarn. I’m a professional crochet designer the brown hat in the images is my design and the blue hat was someone else’s pattern both crocheted by me. This yarn feels similar but is not quite as wide or as soft.
