Review: Don't be afraid. It's not that hard to replace it yourself. - Quite pleased with myself for installing. Youtube helped. The toilet works great now. Being a 65+ female accountant this job was a bit foreign to me. I didn't realize until I got the toilet tank off that if you are going thru the trouble of replacing the flush valve then you really should get a new gasket kit as well. It took another day for the gasket to arrive but in the end my toilet is poised to be working well for the next 10+ years.

Quite pleased with myself for installing. Youtube helped. The toilet works great now. Being a 65+ female accountant this job was a bit foreign to me. I didn't realize until I got the toilet tank off that if you are going thru the trouble of replacing the flush valve then you really should get a new gasket kit as well. It took another day for the gasket to arrive but in the end my toilet is poised to be working well for the next 10+ years.

It works, but the squeal persisted. Apparently, it was a different issue, the taller narrow thing to the left of this flush valve. I have zero confidence in some handymen - even the diagnosis was wrong. My motto is, generally, do it yourself and it will get done right.
