So far these seem a little more sturdy, and they have an extra strap than my previous ones, so I believe these will not fail in the same place. Only knock and this is not against this product in particular, but they are not the easiest to use. Im in Georgia, and most of my yard is hard packed red clay... sometimes the spikes don't go in very far, or hit a rock, so you have to be very careful, additionally sometimes it will pull larger sections of dirt out instead on making a clean hole - wouldn't be bad if it was not in an established lawn... All in all, I still use these occasionally to help - this does not replace the need to core aerate once per year, I use this as a filler in between on the weaker spots in my yard, and areas that do not drain as well ### ⭐⭐⭐ So its okay.... *by P***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on May 30, 2019* Reading the other comments and most were confirmed: my feet do come out of the straps, it can pull large chunks of mud/grass.Regarding the straps, they are huge. I am going to cut them and try and adjust. I have big feet for a woman (size 10) and they are wide. These are even big for my feet.Regarding the chunks, I noticed the chunks came out in particularly muddy or bald areas.With that said i ended up using one shoe only on one foot and walked around my yard (lines up and down). I think it did a fine job. I have a very small yard so it's not much of a walk. I wanted to aerate so i could add some seed. I think it did the trick. Definitely needs tweaking but I am going to keep it and will use again. ### ⭐⭐ Be careful when using; could be hard on your knees *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 6, 2018* These are tough to keep on my shoes given the forces involved in repeatedly entering the soil and withdrawing even in softer soils. They do seem to aerate well and it's a lot easier to do than renting a core aerator. BUT...beware that when the spikes are planted into the soil if you suddenly need to twist or move you've lost your pivot point at the bottom of your shoes as you are locked into the ground. The pivot point becomes your knee. Not a good thing. As I was aerating with these a couple of weeks ago our neighbor's very friendly Labrador retriever came bounding up unbeknownst to me from my side barreling into to me as he likes to when we a playing but this time my feet were locked into the lawn. Fortunately the spikes gave way before my knee did but it was close. It caused a mild sprain; so my advice is to be very careful when using these and realize that your feet are locked into the ground for repeated brief periods of time while using. This could be problematic if you need to move quickly or are forced to twist or pivot suddenly. Shouldn't happen often but it could be very painful if it does.
