I was worried it'd rust or be chipped. But I've been really happy with this purchase :) It helped to read some Google summaries on looking after cast iron. I rinse it last and wash it up first, oil the black rim, then warm it on the hob to dry. I'm so surprised it's worked like it's supposed to! Nothing has stuck, it's even better than non-stick. I warm it on the lowest heat until the handles are warm, then brown any meat. The meat actually browns, instead of boiling in the excess water from my supermarket cuts. All the tasty brown bits do actually come off later in the cooking process. Overall, it's inspired an enjoyment of cooking and experimenting. As a guy, it feels like finally having the proper/quality tool for the job.
