Review: So far, so good - Could be a life saver. - I have been using prescription Omega 3's for the past few years to control my triglycerides because they were out of control. The first prescription was for Lovaza, which contains a mix of EPA and DHA. It worked okay but DHA can raise your cholesterol level so I had to start taking atorvastatin in addition to the Lovaza. My doctor switched me to a newer brand (Vascepa) of Omega 3's that was pure EPA. This worked very well to control my triglycerides without raising my cholesterol. However, it is very expensive and I no longer have prescription drug coverage. So, I have been searching and searching for an affordable substitute since I have to take 4 Grams a day! I was extremely happy to find the Pure Essentials Ultra EPA, it is the closest thing to the Vascepa that I have been able to find and most importantly, can afford to buy. I have only been taking it for a few weeks but so far everything seems good. They are small so they are easy to swallow and I haven't gotten any nasty fish burps. I will update this once I have been taking it for a few months and get my triglycerides checked again.
Review: EPA is the more potent part of fish oil - Aside from the price which is higher than other fish oils, I believe this EPA pill works better for me than a combination pill, based on a liberal interpretation of some research reports and personal experience.

**Q: I was seriously considering buying these until I saw that there is caramel color added. Why is that added?**
A: I so wanted to order these (what an amazing price) but the caramel color made me decide against it (my usual brand—from 🇨🇦 @ 4-5x the price—uses carob powder).  While this may not be the carcinogenic form of caramel coloring, LIVESTRONG.com warns, "Certain ingredients used in making caramel coloring can cause reactions if you have an allergy to them or have celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Some of these include milk, corn dextrose, corn or wheat starch, and malt syrup derived from barley. However, these ingredients aren’t always indicated individually on the product labeling."  Since I'm still sorting out related sensitivities/allergies i need to pass.

**Q: Is there any dha in the product  i.e. the rTg? I need a product with no dha.**
A: There's no dha at all in this formula - it's EPA rtg

**Q: Is there any soy in this product? I see that it contains Vitamin E ... is that soy-based?**

**Q: What is the difference between this and Pharmepa Maintain which is also produced by Iggenus?**
A: Pharmepa Maintain contains 750mg of EPA, 250mg DHA (both omega-3 fatty acids), 60mg GLA (omega-6) and 1200IU vitamin D per 3 capsules. Pure Essentials Ultra EPA Concentrate contains 1000mg of EPA per 2 capsules with no DHA, GLA, or vitamin D

I have been using prescription Omega 3's for the past few years to control my triglycerides because they were out of control. The first prescription was for Lovaza, which contains a mix of EPA and DHA. It worked okay but DHA can raise your cholesterol level so I had to start taking atorvastatin in addition to the Lovaza. My doctor switched me to a newer brand (Vascepa) of Omega 3's that was pure EPA. This worked very well to control my triglycerides without raising my cholesterol. However, it is very expensive and I no longer have prescription drug coverage. So, I have been searching and searching for an affordable substitute since I have to take 4 Grams a day! I was extremely happy to find the Pure Essentials Ultra EPA, it is the closest thing to the Vascepa that I have been able to find and most importantly, can afford to buy. I have only been taking it for a few weeks but so far everything seems good. They are small so they are easy to swallow and I haven't gotten any nasty fish burps. I will update this once I have been taking it for a few months and get my triglycerides checked again.

I suffer from Intractable Pain Disease and this is one of the best things my pain specialist recommended! There is no taste to the gel caps, they are easy to swallow.. and that was one of the most important things I was looking for in a HIGH EPA Omega-3. This brand is exceptional. I also take Vitamin D-3, and Melatonin. The combination of the three, working together is amazing! My pain level is MUCH more tolerable, my MOOD is greatly improved, I sleep better and wake up refreshed. I am extremely happy with this Pure & Essential Ultra Pure EPA Omega-3 Concentrate and will continue buying it. I highly recommend it!!! I hope this was helpful.
