I have opened it up and had a nosey inside, there is the possibility of upgrades for things like the shocks and maybe the motor and with a few more mAh for the battery the speed would be better. Transmitter feels cheap, but it fits well in the hand. The controls are full on or off, meaning full lock steering and full throttle. I'd say very good value for money, fast enough to be entertaining and get air, a good kids car for sure, and a good little basher to keep dad entertained too, I have great fun doing doughnuts and handbrake turns on the laminate floor.
