Its offset design enhances motherboard compatibility and RAM clearance, making it a premium choice for professionals demanding the best in air cooling.

## Description

Product Description The NH-D15 G2 is the further improved second generation of Noctua’s iconic NH-D15. With its state-of-the-art, speed-offset NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, eight heatpipes and asymmetrical fin-stacks that have been carefully fine-tuned to work in tandem with the new fans, it achieves even better quiet cooling performance than its award-winning predecessor. As such, the G2 version is a true flagship model that continues the legacy of the original NH-D15 by pushing the boundaries of air cooling and rivalling the efficiency of many all-in-one (AIO) water cooling solutions. Optimised for relatively flat CPUs, the specialised Low Base Convexity (LBC) version provides excellent contact quality on AMD’s AM5 processors, even if the included offset mounting option isn’t used. In addition to its further improved performance, the NH-D15 G2 also offers enhanced compatibility thanks to an offset construction that allows it to clear the top PCIe x16 slot on most current motherboards. Last but not least, the G2 version has been upgraded to the Torx-based SecuFirm2+ multi-socket mounting system with included NM-SD1 screwdriver as well as to Noctua’s superior NT-H2 thermal compound. In short, the NH-D15 G2 has been further refined in virtually all respects from the heatsink and the fans all the way down to the mounting, thermal paste and accessory package, making it an ideal choice for customers who demand the best of the best in air cooling. More performance, smaller size Thanks to the higher fin density made possible by the new NF-A14x25r G2 fans as well as the asymmetrical fin-stacks and a slightly smaller gap between the stacks, the G2 version combines improved performance with a slightly smaller size compared to the original NH-D15 (9mm less heatsink depth, same heatsink width, same total height including fans). 8 heatpipes for superior performance at higher heat-loads Two NF-A14x25r G2 fans Noctua’s next-generation NF-A14x25r G2 fans set a new benchmark for performance-to-noise efficiency in round-frame 140mm fans. Their superb acoustics as well as their superior airflow and pressure characteristics are one of the cornerstones that enable the NH-D15 G2 to push beyond its legendary predecessor. Specialised LBC (Low Base Convexity) version The Low Base Convexity (LBC) version achieves optimal contact quality on relatively flat CPUs. As such, it is ideal for AM5 even if the offset mounting isn't used or if users seek to combine the lowest possible CCD temperatures with the lowest possible IOD temperatures. The LBC version is also recommended for AM4, LGA2066 and LGA2011 (-3) (free-of-charge NM-i20xx mounting kit required), direct die applications as well as CPUs that have been lapped flat or outfitted with flat custom heat-spreaders. The G2 version continues this legacy by further improving the renowned quiet cooling performance of its iconic predecessor.

Review: Measure your case before buying this product, while I still recommend it!!! - In the picture, my cable management is not good, sorry for the eyesore gore :( Backstory: I got the Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC from desertcart, and I put it into my computer. I try closing my case (NZXT H6 FLOW RGB) and It wont close, and when it did close, one of the fans didn't spin. I therefore spent couple of hours trying to resolve the issue, to conclude the issue. My ram sticks (CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR4) were too tall, first I considered putting my ram sticks into non optimised positions. But after I tried that, I got a better idea, I took the heat-sinks off of my ram sticks. Then the cooler fit and it worked perfectly --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Honest Review: A bit on the expensive side, but does the job and is beautifully built Even if brown isn't your colour in mix with beige, this cooler does not disappoint. Its quiet, very quiet. Even on max RPM, my case fans, were louder and were running at max (obviously) but I'm getting to the point that it is a good CPU cooler and that it is worth the money Obviously there are better competitors who I will not name for obvious reasons. But Noctua is a very reputable brand and I recommend their products, weirdly that they put a product number on their merchandise (sweaters/jumpers, t-shirts). Overall, I recommend this cooler for anyone that is willing to spend a bit more money on quality materialised goods such as Noctua products. But if you're on a very tight budget, I would stick to the competitors like I mentioned earlier.
Review: Big, quiet, the best money can buy. - This is the mother of all CPU coolers and a clear improvement over the previous version, which was still a market leader. Offsetting the metalwork gives easy fitting next to the GPU while retaining mass and fin area for cooling. The fans are silent unless you are running extensive CPU tasks, as expected from Noctua. I've used their fans in everything for years, often disassembling stuff to replace their fans with Noctua. Even my Cisco switch has them. The cooler kit comes with everything you need, thermal paste and torx screwdriver included. At this price it should come with a pizza and bottle of imported lager too, but I guess we can't have everything. It's a fantastic cooler, definitely the best air cooler you can get, and worth every penny. Oh, and it even fit into my Corsair 4000D Airflow case, with Vengeance (not RGB) RAM which, according to the compatibility chart at Noctua, it wouldn't because there didn't seem enough clearance between case and cooler to move the fan up to clear the RAM. It was close though on the chart and numbers so I thought I would try and if needs be remove the second fan that overhangs the RAM. No need to; it fit easily with several mm to spare on each side. No worries :)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the NH-D15 G2 compatible with my CPU socket?**
A: It is compatible with AM5, AM4, LGA1700, LGA1851, LGA115x and LGA1200. With additional mounting parts it can also be made compatible with AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1, FM2(+), LGA1366, LGA20xx Square ILM and LGA775.

**Q: Which version of the NH-D15 G2 should I buy (LBC, standard or HBC)?**
A: The standard NH-D15 G2 is recommended as the best allrounder. The HBC version is ideal for LGA1700 without socket modifications, while the LBC version is best for AM4 and AM5 when not using our offset mounting bars.

**Q: What’s the difference between the NH-D15 G2 and the first-generation NH-D15?**
A: On popular, modern AMD and Intel CPUs the NH-D15 G2 will typically perform 2-3°C better.

**Q: Is the NH-D15 G2 compatible with my case?**
A: Make sure that the case allows for a cooler height of at least 168mm. Please note that the cooler height will increase when your RAM modules are taller than 32mm. Detailed compatibility information is available on the Noctua website.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent, though expensive
*by J***3 on 1 November 2024*

Excellent cooling. It is very expensive - upfront at least - for an air cooler (and half the cost is also in their superb new dual offset-RPM fans). So for cost and colour scheme, it certainly won't be for everyone, especially with a such highly-regarded budget option like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin available. However, backed with Noctua's legendary support and fan quality, it should be very low maintenance and (fingers crossed) it may be the last cooler I ever need to buy. So the long term value should justify the higher initial cost. Opted for the AMD skew as it's unlikely I'll move away from AMD in the foreseeable future with an upgrade to AM5. Of course, going for the LBC rather than the neutral version is something of a gamble that future AMD processors will still benefit from the LBC curvature. (That same gamble equally applies to the Intel version on Intel processors). Currently attached to a Ryzen R7 5900X: 21°c ambient, running at 38°c idle, 78°c on Cinebench R23, which seems really good considering the orientation of the socket on the vintage AM3 motherboard I still have means that the Noctua's offset mounting ability isn't that effective. It should perform even better on AM5. It's replacing a 240mm AIO cooler, was idling at around 50°c, which even taking into account degrading of thermal paste since the last repaste feels high.
