I did not want to cut into my roll bar padding, so I added two ball bungees on each side. Worked fine on the interstate. The middle clips attach to the edge of the holes on the sound bar where the roof screws go in the middle. Yes, you need the windshield channel. I got one on EBay a lot cheaper ($40) Bestop 5124301 No-Drill Header Windshield Channel for 2007-2018 Wrangler JK. It says 2door, but it works for 4door, too. That was a little confusing, but watch the YouTube video and it will help a little…very little. Eyeballing it helped more, really.
