The build quality feels solid and looks highly professional. Out of the box, it worked perfectly on its default setup before I even touched the configuration page. Once I logged into the web interface, it became a fantastic tool for learning and tinkering. I haven't used every single feature yet, but being able to enable/disable ports, set labels, and configure VLANs is incredibly convenient. Additionally, the ability to limit speeds per port has been way more useful than I anticipated. It handles the full speed of my gigabit network flawlessly, and I’ve had zero issues with heat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, manageable switch! Review: Reliable, easy to use, simple management and necessary with multiple devices in the home network - An excellent home network switch with easy to use controls and monitoring. If you have multiple Wi-Fi and ethernet devices in your household network, you will no doubt have come across a situation where something decides to flood your network and stop everything working. Known as a broadcast storm, a device can flood the network to the point where everything stops and it can be time consuming to work out which device is storming the network and then restart it. Netgear hardware is great for the home user, very good quality and easy to manage. And this great, cheap (for what it does) switch allows you to set limits on each of it's ports to that 'if' a device does have a meltdown and start broadcasting wildly, the switch will stop it in it's tracks. You simply look at the monitoring console to see which port and therefore spur of your network is flooding and it simplifies the process of restarting the 'bad actor'. Definitely worth upgrading to this type of switch compared to the basic, unmanaged switch. ## Features - GIGABIT ETHERNET PORTS: Features 8 x 1.0Gbps Ethernet ports for high-speed connectivity. Auto-negotiating ports detect the optimal speed for connected devices and work with existing Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cables. - EASY SMART MANAGED NETWORK SWITCH: Intuitive software interface offers Easy Smart Managed Essentials capabilities to configure VLANs, prioritize traffic with QoS, monitor ports, and manage network security for small businesses. - FLEXIBLE MOUNTING OPTIONS: Compact metal design supports desktop or wall-mount placement for versatile installation. - SILENT & ENERGY-EFFICIENT OPERATION: Fanless design ensures silent performance, while IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet reduces power consumption without compromising high-speed network performance. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0D4NTDSFR | | Best Sellers Rank | 1,403 in Computers & Accessories ( See Top 100 in Computers & Accessories ) 13 in Network Switches | | Box Contents | Ethernet Switch, Switch | | Brand | NETGEAR | | Brand Name | NETGEAR | | Case Material Type | Plastic | | Color | black | | Colour | black | | Compatible Devices | Computer and network equipment with Ethernet ports | | Compatible devices | Computer and network equipment with Ethernet ports | | Country of Origin | Thailand | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 804 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 1 Gigabytes Per Second | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 1 Years | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00606449170061 | | Included components | Ethernet Switch, Switch | | Interface | RJ45 | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 20L x 16W x 8H centimetres | | Item Highlight | Desktop or Wall Mount, Home Network Hub, Silent Operation | | Item Weight | 500 Grams | | Manufacturer | NETGEAR | | Manufacturer Part Number | GS308E-400EUS | | Model Number | GS308E-400EUS | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Layers | 1 | | Number of Ports | 8 | | Number of ports | 8 | | Platform | Not Machine Specific | | Product Warranty | This product is backed by NETGEAR limited 3-year hardware warranty., limited HW | | Product dimensions | 20L x 16W x 8H centimetres | | Switch Type | managed | | UPC | 606449170061 | | Upper Temperature Rating | 40 Degrees Celsius | | Voltage | 28 Volts | ## Product Details - **Brand:** NETGEAR - **Colour:** black - **Compatible devices:** Computer and network equipment with Ethernet ports - **Included components:** Ethernet Switch, Switch - **Number of ports:** 8 ## Images ![NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch, Managed Ethernet Switch GS308E - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/610eQ7tD3EL.jpg) ![NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch, Managed Ethernet Switch GS308E - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/717V7Do-KBL.jpg) ![NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch, Managed Ethernet Switch GS308E - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71hKG+g1LoL.jpg) ![NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch, Managed Ethernet Switch GS308E - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Nx7ORxOfL.jpg) ![NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch, Managed Ethernet Switch GS308E - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81sTOGVWG4L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for homelabs and tinkering! *by T***S on 25 June 2026* I ordered this switch specifically to fit into a custom 3D-printed mini rack project, and it fits beautifully.
