Review: No falling off during install + forgiving placement - TL;DR: This product is amazing. After a terrible experience with another brand, this magnetic lock was a huge relief. The mounting tool actually stays in place, the measuring tool works well (even with uneven cabinet gaps), and the design allows a little wiggle room so installation doesn’t have to be perfect. Solid, well-designed product and worth the money, especially for parents. I ordered this after wasting three magnetic locks from another manufacturer and sending it back for a refund. Honestly I felt like a moron because I couldn't do it. This product, however, was different. The mounting tool fits snugly onto the lock, which makes installation so much easier. With the other product, the lock kept sliding off during install; this one stays put. The measuring tool didn’t fully solve the spacing issues on my cheaper cabinets and drawers (different gaps and insets), but this method worked perfectly every time: 1. I used a piece of paper to find the exact distance, then marked it on the measuring tool with a tiny rubber band. 2. I attached the lock (without the backing) and the measuring tool to the mounting tool. (just the top piece, not the part with the switch) 3. Using the measuring tool, I affixed the lock portion with light pressure... just incase I needed to remove it. 4. I attached the other part (the piece with the switch) without the backing to the mounting tool. 5. Closed the door or drawer. 6. Tested it in case I needed to reposition it (I didn't have to reposition any of the locks). 7. Applied pressure and waited to use it as instructed. One final thing I really appreciated: unlike the other brand, this installation tool leaves a small amount of wiggle room before the lock catches. So, unlike the other product, the distance doesn’t have to be precise. After my terrible experience with the other manufacturer, I was very nervous to try another product, but this is genuinely high quality and worth it.
Review: Sturdy and can easily disable when not desired - Best child locks I’ve found. I was hesitant to get locks that require a key(magnet) to open, however I really needed something that the kids couldn’t break simply by tugging on repeatedly. The locks are super easy and convenient to disable, so when the kids are not around or interested in opening the cabinets and drawers I just leave them unlocked. Instructions and installation was east. It took me a little longer to do than I thought, but I opted to screw them in since I don’t want to keep getting new locks or replacement adhesive. The adhesive was decently strong but my toddlers relentless and strong so I’m not taking any chances. I made these locks work for all my cabinets and drawers however some were not technically compatible. I filed a few down and got creative with the orientation and placement of the locks and they worked great. I will say with a little creativity these will fit any drawer or cabinet.

A: The magnet it pretty powerful and make contact by hovering over the lock on the inside. Rubbing would scratch your white finish but rubbing is not required to use these stronger vmaisi brand magnets.

**Q: Is it easy to remove? Will it stick the painting of the furniture?**
A: Yes they remove clean with alcohol. You need to be careful taking them off, to not peel off any part of your cabinet.

**Q: Some locks are not staying in the lock position. Is this a defect?**
A: It turns out the the metal cabinet knob or possibly the metal screw holding the knob had become magnetized. So just moved the lock about a half an inch further away from the metal knob and then it worked!

**Q: Drawers of my dresser does not even close properly. How to solve the issue?**
A: For inset drawers, the included tool aids in placing the catch deep enough to allow the drawer to close. Most of the dresser drawers required to mount the lock sideways (it still functions!). The included inset ruler tool works well to solve this.

Best child locks I’ve found. I was hesitant to get locks that require a key(magnet) to open, however I really needed something that the kids couldn’t break simply by tugging on repeatedly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way better than I expected. Quick and easy installation.

My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson who just started walking, are moving in with us with temporarily in a few days. I ordered these with the hope of an easy installation, and fully-functioning cabinet door child-proof locks. After a few minutes of trying the provided installation guide, I scanned the installation video. Within minutes I was installing the magnetic locks. I couldn't be happier with the process, the ease of installation, and the functionality of the locks. The 3M adhesive up to the task. Make sure you position it properly, because on smooth surfaces, you won't be able to reposition it due to the strong adhesion. The mounting guide that this product comes with makes positioning and installing a breeze. I installed 18 locks in about 20 minutes. The only problem I had was with a couple of cabinets in which the surface was not smooth. For those I had to screw in the locks. Make sure to use the right screw drill bit. The screws are small and I stripped a couple, until I found the right sized bit. With four magnetic "keys" opening the locks without having to search around for one is not going to be a problem. One of the nicest surprises is that you can easily flip a little lever on the lock, and it will not lock your cabinet doors. A quick flip back and it is fully-functioning. Well worth the price.
