For room temperature this is supposed to work instantly, and cold you wait 5 minutes. I usually have to wait a minute or two even for room temperature. But I love the individual measured packets. My son needs his liquids thickened so we keep these in both cars, in the diaper bag, etc so we know we at least always have some on us. We also send these with him to feeding therapy. They are more expensive than if you just got the tub but we only use them as needed/in cases we forget the tub. They are easy to rip open.
