Normally by the time regular spoons get to a toddlers mouth its empty and they are wearing their food however with this creative curved design it closes the gap and my son was actually feeding himself which made him and us very proud. Since my 21 month old doesn't have the skill yet to turn his wrist these help. My only critique is that it slips inside of his hand ( because of ssf slippery food hand) to where when he gets it to his mouth it's not facing his mouth so he ends up resorting back to fist eating lol.
