I know my yard isn’t the prettiest, but I bought this fountain for the sound, and it absolutely delivers. When it comes to fountains, you want a relaxing water sound—not something that reminds you of someone peeing! This fountain has the perfect volume and creates a peaceful, babbling-brook vibe. Assembly was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. My only very minor complaint is that the screws for the decorative faux pump could have been a tiny bit longer. That said, it’s secure enough, and it’s not like anyone will be yanking on it. The fountain is made of plastic, but the paint finish looks great. It doesn’t look cheap or tacky at all. Product was easy to put together and straightforward design. It has a little hole on the back side if the top of the main tub, so you can snake the power cord out the back so no one knows you were there and let the front of the fountain look clean and natural. Material is definitely plastic feeling and seems waterproof, and is slightly thin but painted well to look like genuine aged wood and study enough to not bend when full of water. When fully running at full speed, there is a very slight splashing of the water just due to the physics of the device and the designed distance the water drops. So I would caution against keeping it indoors on hardwood flooring or something but only 1-2 water droplets per minute might splash outside the basin, very minimal mess.
