It brings water to a full boil at 212°F in about five minutes, which is perfect for making instant ramen or quick meals. I even checked the temperature with a kitchen meat thermometer just to be sure, and it was spot on. I have not tried the other heat settings yet, but the touch button controls are very easy to use and feel intuitive. Everything about the unit feels well designed and convenient for travel. The carrying case could be slightly larger to fit the cord more easily. If you take some time, you can make the cord, heater, instructions, and cleaning packets all fit inside, but it is a bit of a squeeze. To avoid dealing with that every time, I just put the cord and accessories into a sandwich size ziplock bag, place that inside the heater, and then slide the heater into the carrying case, which works great. Overall, this is an excellent product and I am very happy with it. One thing to note is that the outside of the heater and the lid do get pretty warm during use, so be careful when handling it after heating.
