Review: Nice little unit for a dorm room - I bought the 8000btu unit for a small dorm room. It works very well for that purpose. It suited our needs of not requiring any permanent or damaging modifications to the window to install. There is an expandable panel that fits inside a small window opening, which fits the exhaust hose. There was nothing to permanently attach to the window. There is a drain pan for condensate. We raised the unit up and ran a hose out the window for it to be able to drain continuously since it’s very humid here. I liked the adjustable louvers on the front to direct the cool air wherever wanted. It operates quietly. Just fan noise, which isn’t very loud. Easy to sleep in the same room with. Provides comfortable temperature and less humidity.

I bought the 8000btu unit for a small dorm room. It works very well for that purpose. It suited our needs of not requiring any permanent or damaging modifications to the window to install. There is an expandable panel that fits inside a small window opening, which fits the exhaust hose. There was nothing to permanently attach to the window. There is a drain pan for condensate. We raised the unit up and ran a hose out the window for it to be able to drain continuously since it’s very humid here. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flawed but gets the job done

Worth the money as it works well despite flaws. Produces cold air to immediately cool the area infront of the fan and eventually whole room. My exhaust hose would not attatch to the window kit or ac unit, works and seals well with enough duct tape. The window kit that was supplied is thin uneven plastic that leaves cracks without weather stripping. The plastic provides poor insulation especially when it comes to noise, sounds and feels like the window is open. As with other AC units, it will alternate between silently idle and audibly compressing, with no apparent setting to have the circularting fan stay on, making it difficult to sleep wether or not you appreciate white noise. Since these issues can be fixed with simple and common DIY solutions, the AC unit is well worth the purchase considering the affordability and performance.
