I had purchased a thinner magnet in the past, but wanted a thicker, stronger magnet. These are perfect. They are very powerful, and being thicker, are easier for me to handle. They have a smooth finish. I had a spare rafter/truss plate that I covered with clear packing tape to hold the magnets when I am not using them. That makes it much easier to avoid them snapping together and pinching fingers and/or breaking. They are much easier to grip than the thinner magnets I had before. As I use them almost daily, they are well worth the price.
