What little OEM supply remains is priced too high, and this one honestly just looked better to me. Before, with the missing piece, I was having to jam my face right up against the back of the camera; now I can keep a little more distance, since this eyecup does a great job of blocking out ambient light. It also seems to stay in place pretty firmly - the fit doesn't seem loose at all, at least not in the early going.
