New Low Profile Binding Posts Conventional terminal panel cut-outs have been removed, giving greatly improved structural integrity to the enclosures and new low profile binding posts have been incorporated with sockets deep enough to accept 4mm (0.16 in) Banana Plugs. The speaker can be positioned very close to a rear wall even when banana plugs rather than spades or bare wires are used. HPE - Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer) technology designed to convert pressure to velocity and reduce the overall pressure gradient within the speaker enclosure, has been applied to the Q 3050i to reduce cabinet resonance. This technology is perfect for taller loudspeakers that tend to resonate at a single favoured frequency. High-Frequency Driver Unit All 3000i Series tweeters are decoupled from the baffle via a compliant suspension system. Vibrations from the woofer, which can impair the performance of the tweeter are isolated allowing the tweeter to perform with dramatically reduced interference. Mid/Bass Driver The cone is precision formed from impregnated and coated paper and teamed with a newly developed, low-hysteresis, rubber surround. The coated paper cone provides the optimum balance between stiffness and self- damping which means it can accelerate without flexing and without unwanted resonances.

Review: Q acoustics 3050i Floor Standing Speaker. - The are quite large for floor standing speakers but I have plenty of room at home. These speakers are well made sound very good and are pleasant to look at. Q Acoustics have made 2 later floor standing models which are slimmer and more expensive so these speakers are now available cheaper than the original list price.

There are many variables that influence how a component may sound, or indeed, how they are expected to sound. The 3050i's are infact a genuine diamond of a loudspeaker! I haven't even got them run in yet and they are just awesome at this price. Never overwhelming, never overpowering, never tiring. Just sweet and comfortable to listen too! They are full bodied, with an authoritive bass, well defined midrange and a captivating top end. I highly recommend this product 👌

The are quite large for floor standing speakers but I have plenty of room at home. These speakers are well made sound very good and are pleasant to look at. Q Acoustics have made 2 later floor standing models which are slimmer and more expensive so these speakers are now available cheaper than the original list price.
