There is residue coating the pitcher. My clearly Filtered pitcher doesn’t. Started from beginning!** A: Hey this is a great question! The best water that you should be drinking is an alkaline water rich in Calcium and Magnesium and low in Sodium, since the latter eliminates the Calcium from the organism and the Magnesium helps to fix it in the areas where it is most needed (our filters do not add Sodium) The filters of conventional jugs on the market carry a chemical called Ion Exchange Resin. What these resins do is change ions of Calcium and Magnesium for Sodium Ions, leaving a water with an acidic pH, with little oxygen and without antioxidant capacity, which as mentioned by the multiple recent studies, increases the probability to form stones in the kidney or gallbladder, in addition to many problems associated with the intake of sodium (diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular problems, fluid retention, kidney problems, etc) Most of the waters are very rich in Calcium, but poor in Magnesium hence, not enough Calcium attaches to your body. The Alkanatur filter is 100% natural, does not contain any type of chemical and the only thing that contributes to water is 18 milligrams of Magnesium per liter, so the two most important minerals that our body needs are in perfect balance, helping to better assimilate them. Because of this in some cases in areas where Calcium is high in water there could remain some whitish particles in the walls of the pitcher or in the bottles. These are simply small remnants of Calcium and Magnesium. We advise you that at night when you notice that they are forming, leave that area covered with water and pour a little vinegar or lemon, in just one hour it will be totally clean. In case it is very embedded because you never performed this procedure, we advise you to use hot water. If in addition to the appearance of particles, the taste is not to your liking, you can use some system of reverse osmosis or mineral water and then pass it through the Alkanatur filter to make it alkaline, restructured, rich in oxygen and with great antioxidant capacity. From Alkanatur, our main objective is to generate quality water. **Q: Is this pitcher able to remove microplastics?** A: Yes it does, one of the main components of the filter is the activated coconut charcoal that has a diameter of ~2 nanometers, the average of the industry is around 4-5 nanometers. We are interested in adding minerals to improve taste and lower acidity.** A: Yes it should work, in fact, because reverse osmosis is already filtering the water the Alkanatur filter should last longer. It will remove whatever the reverse osmosis couldnt and it will add magnesium to the water. So it should definitely work! **Q: great product thank you.. however instructions are clear as mud and in spanish.. what are the strips and drops for and how do you use them?** A: I will pass your message to the manufacturer so we can fix the instructions. Thanks for the feedback. Both, the strips and drops are for you to test the pH of any liquid. I recommend the drops for testing water and strips for any other liquid. To use the drops just pour 1 oz of water and then add 6-10 drops of the pH reagent. Compare the color to the label of the drops to get an estimate of the pH. For the strips you can just put it on any liquid and then compare the color to the label of strips (not to the label of the drops they are similar but not the same) Also you can use the strips to test the pH of your body you can put it on your mouth or pour some urine and compare to the color of box where the strips came.
