Retique It Liquid Wood is a patented, water-based wood fiber paint containing over 60% recycled wood particles. ## Description

Retique It is a patented, revolutionary new product which makes virtually any hard surface stainable without having to strip off the old finish. The surface will become like bare wood because Retique It contains real wood. When you apply Retique It to a surface you are actually applying a thin layer of wood which can be finished using any color stain. Retique It is water-based, biodegradable, and has virtually no VOC’s, with no offensive smell and less damage to our environment. Retique It can be applied using an inexpensive paint brush or paint sprayer by professionals and DIYer’s alike. Cleanup is as simple as using soap and water. Retique It allows you to skip the time-consuming step of stripping the old finish. Review: Not that hard to use. - I loved the way my project turned out. I didn't try to rush through it. I had white painted cabinets in the bathroom and I wanted a more natural wood look. New cabinets where just too expensive,and the cabinets themselves were good quality, so I thought I'd give this a try. What you see is: one coat of Retiqueit over the white paint, then I took a small stiff paint brush and pulled it through through the surface to get a slight grain look. I chose not to get the graining tool, because the grain was to large and won't look right the rest of the natural wood. I also show one picture of the retiqueit next to the natural wood. The door is the natural wood and the cabinet is the Retiqueit. It is very close to the existing wood. The natural wood in the bathroom,I belive, is Alder wood. The Alder has a slight redish under tone, and the Retiqueit is a little warmer color than it looks like in the photo. I followed the steps as directed, I scuffed the surface, wiped it down with the water/alcohol mix, and let it dry a bit. I did not stain the cabinets, the color pictured is the lightwood color Retiqueit over white paint. That gave me the color I wanted.

**Q: Can it be used on an already stripped laminate top?**
A: Im not sure I would imagine, I used it on a childs old cabinet then stained it....the stuff is great!!!

**Q: Can I use this product {antique it} on white painted kitchen chairs**
A: I'm sure it will work on your white painted chairs. It might be a little difficult staining, but I wouldn't imagine it would be too bad. This stuff is amazing. Take some before and after pictures, because nobody will believe you when you tell them they are the same chairs.  I used the light wood, with a dark stain. Came out fantastic. The light wood Retique It, lets some imitation grain to show through as you wipe a darker stain off. Very cool.

**Q: Can you describe difference colors in ebony stain vs kona stain?**
A: Hello,  ebony stain has more of a black appearance and Mona stain has a chocolate or deep brown appearance.

**Q: Can you use it on a bathroom countertop?**
A: Yes, you can. I would just make sure to seal it with something more durable than a typical poly. You’ll definitely want some type of marine varnish.
