I loved this dress. It fit well & loved that the split wasn't too high & you didn't have to worry about it when sitting down. I tried this in XL in my quest for a jewel-toned bridesmaid dress. I tried lots of different brands at different price points from different retailers, and I was very surprised that this one was as nice as the ones that I tried from the bridesmaids' website that begins with "L." The cut and ruching were extremely flattering, even on my "mom bod," and the velvet had a nice weight to it. Unfortunately, the dark blue velvet looked almost black in person--too dark for my needs. Also, the XL was too large for me, but that was my fault for not being brave enough to order it in my true size (L). (I'm not used to wearing such fitted dresses and thought that I would be more comfortable sizing up. Order your regular size!) Finally, the slit is a little too high for a formal event like a wedding. I will keep this dress in mind if I ever want a full-length gown for a sexy date night. For reference, I'm 5'4", 161 lbs, 32DDD (US), size 12 (US), and the XL was too large for me in the bodice. I have a feeling that the L would have been perfect if I had decided to go with this dress. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the length wasn't so excessive that I would need to have it hemmed. I was stepping on it when I tried it on without shoes, but I think that 2-to-3-inch heels would have been fine with it.
