I zipped tied mine to the top of a 5 foot tall T-post instead of using the ground mount stake that came with the rain gauge. There is a little tab at the top of the rain gauge so it can be mounted to wood. Not sure how well the rain gauge will hold up in hot UV summer weather - time will tell. First weekend of use we had 5.7 inches of rain. This rain gauge holds 10 inches! Review: Large Numbers Easy to Read - This is the second one I have bought. I like the fact that the numbers are large enough that I can see the amount of rain from my back door. Advice: just don't leave it out during a Winter freeze. It will crack and need to be replaced. LOL ## Features - 【Upgraded accurate rain gauge】We found that most rain gauges on the market do not measure accurately due to incorrect design of the tube mouth which leads to excessive collection of rainwater. We have improved the design of the tube mouth and make the area of rainwater collection at the tube mouth the same as the tube body(patented design), so that no excess rainwater enters the rain gauge tube, and the rainfall measurement value is accurate. - 【Clearer and Easier to Read】The scale on the rain gauge tube is upgraded to large font and ten equal parts per inch, which is more accurate, clearer and easier to read. In addition, our rain measure gauge adds colored metal strips(patented design) at the rear of the tube to make the water in the rain gauge blue, effectively avoiding the problem of unclear water level and scale caused by reflection or transparency. These designs can make the precise rain gauge for yard easier to read. - 【Adjustable Height】This rain measure gauge for garden is designed as three-section structure, the overall height reaches 29 inches. You can remove the middle section and adjust it to a height of 19 inches if you need. The height of 29inch is higher than other glass rain gauges on the market, not easy to be covered by flowers or grass, easy to read. - 【Sturdy and Durable Rain Measure Gauge】The tube of rain gauge outdoor is made of high quality thickened transparent plastic, not easy to freeze crack or break due to the freezing temperature outdoors. The frame of the rain gauge outdoor freeze proof is made of high quality and thick cast iron, which is durable and will not be faded or deformed easily. - 【Easy to install and use】Simply connect the four three frames to complete the installation of the outdoor rain gauge. Metal stakes with H-legs can conveniently and firmly fix the rain gauge in the soil. The back of the rain gauge for fence has a hook, and you can also hang it on the fence. The detachable plastic tube inside make it easy to empty and clean, while the decorative iron art stake adds a touch of elegance to your garden or lawn. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #9,137 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #11 in Rain Gauges | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 840 Reviews | ## Images ![Rain Gauge Outdoor,Accurate Rain Gauges Outdoors Best Rated,Upgraded Freeze Proof Rain Measure Gauge for Yard Fence,Rain Meter with Stake,Large Font Water Gauge for Rain,Adjustable Height,Easy to Read - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ReBcLh79L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Large and Easy to Read *by B***O on May 2, 2026* Very sturdy and large rain gauge that is easy to mount and read to the 1/10th inch. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Large Numbers Easy to Read *by M***D on March 7, 2026* This is the second one I have bought. I like the fact that the numbers are large enough that I can see the amount of rain from my back door. Advice: just don't leave it out during a Winter freeze. It will crack and need to be replaced. LOL ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looking for A Sturdy & Visible Rain Guage? This is it! *by R***E on September 1, 2025* This attractive outdoor thermometer is well made to stand up to all the crazy weather we seem to be getting. The holder is made to stand firmly in the ground while supporting the large, easy to clean, acrylic measuring tube. No wobbles at all! Reading the collected amount of rain is not quite as easy as depicted. That wide blue line shown behind the numbers in the listing is actually part of the stand not the tube. One needs to rotate the tube to line the numbers up with the background stripe. The numbers on the rain gauge are fairly easy to identify from a few yards away with or without the highlighting stripe. Sadly, it has had minimal precipitation to measure this summer as we’ve had no rain in MO for nearly 8 weeks! Hopefully I can add an edit for accuracy sometime soon. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/624637821-rain-gauge-outdoor-accurate-rain-gauges-outdoors-best-rated-upgraded](https://www.desertcart.us/products/624637821-rain-gauge-outdoor-accurate-rain-gauges-outdoors-best-rated-upgraded) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
