This came after more than a decade of swearing never to become the caffeine fiend that my mother had been in life when it came to coffee drinking.Until I tried Don Francisco k-cups, drinking coffee was basically a daily energizer and focus-enhancer to me. I never thought that you'd actually be able to distill artisanal flavor and roast-mastery into a mass-produced k-cup pod.DF coffee is an absolute pleasure to drink. While I suppose you COULD gulp down a mug of it to help with the mad dash in to work, I personally feel like this product is best (and meant to be) enjoyed, as a coffee maker who is actually PROUD of what they produce would prefer.I've tried numerous other brands. Bottom tier brands taste like sludge, not coffee to me. Starbucks, Green Mountain, whatever that liquid is that McDonalds dares call coffee, Dunkin, gas station coffee, etc. These are all no-goes for me. Tier 2 is like the Maxwell House, Folgers, Kauai, Peet's, etc. Some of these are OK or tolerable, but usually cost too much for what it is, or the flavors are just too sweet or too chemical.When you hit Tier 3 coffee, this is where the flavor and roast magic really starts to occur. This happens with brands like Brooklyn Beans, Black Rifle Coffee Company, Copper Moon, Tully's, New England Coffee, Angelino's, Deathwish, Martinson, etc. But reigning supreme over all of these is Don Francisco's coffee. Every single flavor I've tried so far, even the ones I didn't think I'd like, have proven spectacular. The French Roast in particular was so good, it switched my preference from Colombian and Italian roasts to this richly flavorful, faintly chocolatey taste that I never thought I'd like in my coffee.Cheers to Don Francisco and their k-cups. (I usually drink 100% KONA but currently the price has risen to $30-$48 for 8-12 k-cups of 100% KONA coffee, so after reading about the Don Francisco Brand and the care they take in sourcing their beans and making their coffee, I decided to try it out since it was a lot less expensive). Wow! I was presently surprised. With 6oz of water, the coffee has a good KONA taste and slightly above medium strength with no bitterness. I have had other "blends" before in which the desired ingredient is too watered down or blended to where you can taste it. Not in this case. If you are able to brew yourself a 6oz cup of coffee in your machine that uses k-cups, I think you will enjoy this KNONA coffee as the KONA taste comes through. Anyhow, I am very pleased and will be buying more.
