It's the coolest trash can I've ever seen, and as far as I know there's no other company offering something like this. The fully automated bag-sealing process means I can 'take out the trash' without getting my hands dirty. Like other reviewers have said, it's small, but that's one of the things I like about it. Between the automation and the size, it encourages me to take out the kitchen trash more often, which keeps smells from building up. It has a small, understated profile that goes great with any modern decor. The bag changing system is so freaking easy. Taking out the trash is no longer a chore! With good trash cans costing $150 plus, I think this is a great value for the money. Will definitely be a long-time customer! Pros: - FULLY automated (lid, bag changing, bag sealing - all of it! I love not having to change bags!) - Small size - Long battery life! After the initial charge, I've only had to re-charge it once in 3 months - Extremely clean, minimal look - Good value - $100 for the trash can, plus $30 for 6 refill rings (150 bags) - obviously a little more pricey per refill than traditional trash bags, but it's worth it for the simplicity and ease of use - Novel 'cool' factor is always fun. This is definitely a talking point for anyone who witnesses the trash change process! Cons: - The trash bag material could be a little stronger. After a couple small rips in the beginning, I just stopped overfilling/pushing the trash down, and I haven't had any issues since! Review: Fruit flies be gone! - I needed something to replace my compost bin and thought this could be a solution. I had no idea how effective it would be! It closes tightly after I add food scraps, then seals the bag fully when it's time to take it out. We live in the woods and in the summer the fruit flies are awful, but within days of starting to use this it had reduced how many we have by 90%! This is an amazing option for food trash and I cannot recommend it enough. ## Features - 【Self-Sealing & Changing in One-Touch】The townew self sealing trash can just press and hold the Sealing button for 3 seconds to achieve one-click automatic packaging. If you take away the full trash bag, it will automatically fill the new garbage bag to save you the trouble of an extra household chore. - 【Touch-free Motion Sensor Lid】The automatic garbage can is equipped with latest Infrared Motion Sensor that detects movement and all approaching objects within 14 inches above the sensor panel to open the lid immediately. 【Lid Opening Mode by One-Click Button】The townew smart trash can tap the touch button on the front to instantly turn on lid opening mode and press the button again to turn off lid opening mode. - 【Overload Sealing】It will automatically sense the location of the excess trash that exceeds the trash can and adapt to the height of trash and extend the trash bag to seal. Compared with T AIR X and T Air Lite, it has no pull strap and can automatically open the lid for overload packing. - 【Ventilated Design】Compared with the fully sealed design, the floating bucket lid prevents odor from building inside the can by way of a low ventilation process for a more enjoyable experience. - 【Large Capacity Design】Townew’s smart trash can is large enough to meet the daily needs of your family. It is easier to store large garbage such as fast food boxes, large Coke bottles, etc. The 4.1 Gallon garbage cans can also easily meet the needs of office, family and public environments. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0CMQPY71Z | | Additional Features | Automatic, Motion Sensor, Odor Seal | | Best Sellers Rank | #227,669 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #463 in Kitchen Waste Bins | | Brand | TOWNEW | | Brand Name | TOWNEW | | Capacity | 4.1 gallons | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,449 Reviews | | Finish Type | ABS | | Included Components | smart trash can*1integrated refill ring*1Manual*1USB cable*1 | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 9.45"L x 12.2"W x 15.83"H | | Item Weight | 10 pounds | | Manufacturer | Townew | | Material | Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene | | Material Type | Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene | | Opening Mechanism | Motion-Sensor | | Recommended Uses For Product | Bathroom, Dining Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, Office, Living Room | | Room Type | Bathroom,Bedroom,Kitchen,Office, Dining Room, Kitchen, Living Room | | Shape | Rectangular | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** TOWNEW - **Capacity:** 4.1 Gallons - **Color:** Black - **Finish Type:** ABS - **Material:** Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene - **Opening Mechanism:** Motion-Sensor - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Bathroom, Dining Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, Office, Living Room - **Room Type:** Bathroom,Bedroom,Kitchen,Office, Dining Room, Kitchen, Living Room - **Shape:** Rectangular - **Special Feature:** Automatic, Motion Sensor, Odor Seal ## Images ![T1S 4.1 Gallon Automatic Self-Sealing and Self-Changing, Motion Sense Activated Trash Can, 2024 Upgrade Smart Garbage Can with Lid for Kitchen Bathroom Office, Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41HCsjqoECL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Set** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How long will the battery last and its recharge time?** A: According to different usage scenarios, the battery life is between 40-60 days, and recharge time is about 5-10 hours. **Q: What is power source with which product can be operated?** A: It is recommended to use a 5v2a adapter. I had no idea how effective it would be! It closes tightly after I add food scraps, then seals the bag fully when it's time to take it out. We live in the woods and in the summer the fruit flies are awful, but within days of starting to use this it had reduced how many we have by 90%! I've been using these TOWNEW T1/T Air Lite Official Refill Rings for Smart Kitchen Trash Can for about a year now. I am still their biggest fan!! Although small, they do hold a significant amount and you can use them to the top or decide to not use them to a filled up point in order to get rid of something more smelly. My only suggestion for improvement is they need to be a few plys stronger, and it would be nice if they could cut off and provide a strap to hold them as you pull them from the melted edge. If the sack if full or heavy, that is the point at which your finger is most liable to push through the thin bag. This system, however, is absolutely fabulous!! If you are ever in doubt about giving one as a present to an elderly person, give, give, give. Yes, it is aggravating to have the lid pop up if any object, like a skirt hem, happens to go over the infrared sensor. Mine has given me a few other glitches where I thought it had broken or stopped working. Giving it a minute to rest, unplugging it, plugging it back in, and once fiddling with the button, and all reset for continued use. It has withstood lots of use in one year, including the amazed in sections by the grands and the greats. Their entertainment was a joy!! If you can afford this trash can and its refills, you can't go wrong. ## Frequently Bought Together - TOWNEW T1S 4.1 Gallon Automatic Self-Sealing and Self-Changing, Motion Sense Activated Trash Can, 2024 Upgrade Smart Garbage Can with Lid for Kitchen Bathroom Office, Black - TOWNEW T1/T1S/T Air X/T Air Lite Official Refill Rings for Smart Kitchen Trash Can, Durable Garbage Bags for Electric Automatic Trash Can- 6 pk Refill Rings - Up to 150 Trash Bags (6 Months Supply) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/621048673-t1s-4-1-gallon-automatic-self-sealing-and-self-changing](https://www.desertcart.us/products/621048673-t1s-4-1-gallon-automatic-self-sealing-and-self-changing) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
