Kiln dried wood is READY TO BURN no hassle with lighting. Birch is a sustainable, commercially available, fast growing hardwood and is more environmentally sound to burn than most broadleaf hardwoods such as Ash and Oak. A birch forest can be ready to harvest in 20-30 years whereas Ash and Oak trees can grow for hundreds of years.
