These 4-1/2 inch metal grinding wheels are made for the shop where the grinder runs all day and the work has to keep moving. Each 5 pack contains Type 27 depressed center grinding discs measuring 4-1/2 x 1/4 x 7/8 inch, rated to 13,300 rpm. The quarter-inch thickness gives the wheel enough body to take heavy stock removal without folding under pressure, and the depressed center clears a standard guard so the operator can work the face flat or at an angle without fighting the tool. The abrasive is A24 aluminum oxide - an extra coarse 24 grit grain in a hard resinoid bond. Coarse grain pulls material fast on the first pass. The hard bond holds that grain in place long enough to finish the job rather than shedding it across the floor. Fiberglass reinforcement runs through the body of each grinding disc, adding side-load strength for the moments when the wheel catches an edge or the angle shifts mid-pass. A: No! I use the tool for grinding mower blades only.

A: This page is tricky - for the 5 inch Grinding Wheel, it states Max RPM 12,200

**Q: Would this be effective for grinding concrete or mortar?**
A: They make them for concrete, or metal. They are different composition. I guess it would work on concrete, but would probably load up. Better to order the ones made for concrete.
