Iodized table salt also may not provide enough. I saw plenty of Nepalis with goiter when trekking the Himalayas in 1985. Seaweed greatly concentrates iodine, so certain seaweeds (know the source) can provide RDA amounts. If you believe you need more (I do. Read Brownstein's book Iodine: Why You Need It), then buy Lugol's solution or Biomax Iodoral. Brownstein says 6 to 50 mg/day of iodine + iodide (in Lugol's ratio). **Q: can you use this as bath salt too for bathing?** A: This is straight from Dr. Mercola's Website: Your skin is an excretive organ that mirrors the condition of your intestines. When you take a brine bath, the salt minerals help your skin in the form of ions. Bio-energetic weak points will be balanced and your body's energy flow will be activated. To get the full benefits of a natural crystal salt bath, the right salt concentration is critical. The salt concentration has to be at least the same as the one of your body fluids (approximately 1%) to activate the osmotic exchange ratio. The formula for a 1% solution is 1.28 ounces of salt per gallon of water.Since a full tub normally takes from 100 to 120 liters (27-32 gallons) of water, at least 1.2 kg. (2.6 pounds) of natural salt is required. To avoid using body energy to balance the temperature, the water should be approximately 37° Celsius (97° Fahrenheit). Your bath will remain at a constant temperature because the biophysical composition of the salt is so strong - it causes the molecules to move in a constant rhythm.Do not use any bath additives, soaps, or oils.Your bath should last 20 to 30 minutes. During this time, the temperature and the makeup of the brine bath is comparable to the amniotic fluid in which the embryo floats in the prenatal state.Do not shower off, simply dry off with a towel. After your brine bath, you should rest for at least 30 minutes./li>WARNING: While brine baths have a positive effect, they are also demanding on your circulatory system. If you suffer from weak or poor heart circulation, always consult your doctor first. **Q: If I'm replacing regular table salt that would be used in recipes and in a salt shaker, should I purchase the extra fine or just the fine grade?** A: I’ve only used the extra fine grind, but I find that it comes out of the shaker too quickly and I end up getting too much salt. I love this brand and type of salt but don’t want too much of it on my food. I’m going to try the fine grade next. Good luck! I also use it for salt water gargles. It’s great! **Q: Does it state the trace element analysis list?** A: look here: The Meadow lists elements found in Himalayan salt in addition to sodium and chloride. In alphabetical order, they are: actinium, aluminum, antimony, arsenic, astatine, barium, beryllium, bismuth, boron, bromine, cadmium, calcium, carbon, cerium, cesium, chlorine, chromium, cobalt, copper, dysprosium, erbium, europium, fluorine, francium, gadolinium, gallium, germanium, gold, hafnium, holmium, hydrogen, indium, iodine, iridium, iron, lanthanum, lead, lithium, lutetium, magnesium, manganese, mercury, molybdenum, neodymium, neptunium, nickel, niobium, nitrogen, osmium, oxygen, palladium, phosphorus, platinum, plutonium, polonium, potassium, praseodymium, protactinium, radium, rhenium, rhodium, rubidium, ruthenium, samarium, scandium, selenium, silicon, silver, sodium, strontium, sulfur, tantalum, tellurium, terbium, thallium, thorium, thulium, tin, titanium, uranium, vanadium, wolfram, yttrium, ytterbium, zinc and zirconium. ## Frequently Bought Together - Sherpa Pink Himalayan Salt - 5 lbs.
