It has a nice weight to it, the magnets are neodymium magnets so they should only lose around 1% if strength roughly every 100 years. I would recommend anyone configuring the magnet set up to take the outside layer off first, set up the inside layer and then the outside as the inside magnets will jump with u try the other way around. I was adjusting the magnets and the inner magnet ring just fell off causing a second row of magnets to jump out and magnetize to the ball bearing ring attached to the inner magnet ring. I could not get the magnets back in it's more of a hassle than I want to deal with.
