Review: Awesome vehicle manuals. - Gr8 auto repair books! I have one for all of my vehicles I have owned. I purchased one for each of my boys cars so they have them to reference when repairs or general maintenance is required. If you are a DIYer then you need.to get one for your vehicle.
Review: Have car? Get Book. - If you wanna know stuff start here. I have have had many vehicles and I always get the book. I keep track of all my maintenance and parts on the inside front page. I tab out the sections for ease of use. I also download a few others from online and read everything. It saves me money knowing what is what when I need to know. This is my first Subaru and it is sooo different than my truck. Everything is electric and that is the most important. It helped me install both passenger side windows when a bear took them out. I couldn't get anyone to come out this far so I did it myself. I go through and highlight what actually refers to what I have. One thing I find annoying about the books is how casual they refer to reinstallation as "just reverse the removal" it is not always like that.

I still like a printed basic auto repair manual rather than the digital type. Such are getting harder to find, and I understand why.We happen to have an Outback in this model year range. The Outback and Legacy vehicles are so similar that our owner's manual is labeled "Outback and Legacy". I don't know why Haynes says this is for the Forester and Legacy, though I suspect the Forester is similar enough to make this useful.In any case, if you are familar with Haynes manuals then this is pretty typical of their work. My long-time favorite DIY repair manual publisher.

    Not much help with bearing assembly replacement

Got this book hoping for details about real wheel bearing assembly replacement but it was not much help besides providing torque for tightening bolts.  The table of contents, index, and chapter content was not thorough in my opinion.  Took me a few attempts but eventually, I found a very good youtube video and used that instead.
