The blocks fuse together in the packaging and are very hard to separate. Is there any easy way to do this?** A: Always a nuisance when this happens. I sometimes open up the plastic wrapper and lay it flat on the floor. Lift the pair of blocks a few inches above the floor and drop them down. Invariably this breaks the seal. Alternatively I have laid the blocks flat on the wrapper and then using a wooden mallet tapped the sharp end of a clean chisel between the blocks. One of these methods has always worked for me. I have found all makes of block salt have this problem.
