Review: Works exactly as described - UPDATE ~~~~~~~ I've been "playing" with this some more. Couple of things I discovered. One time I powered it up and the backlight was non-functioning. I wondered what I had done???. Turns out the Power/Mute button does 3 things. short press turns the unit ON or OFF. 1st Long press Mutes 2nd Long press turns off backlight completely (Display still functions/visible) 3rd Long press unmutes 4th Long press turns on backlight (green/orange/red now effective) The Hold/Max switch (this is documented but not very clear) 1st Short press turns on HOLD function and holds the current settings 2nd Short press turns off HOLD function, numbers return to normal scanning 1st Long press turns on MAX function, instead of numbers fluctuating up and down the MAX simply holds the highest value reached (once it stops changing, that's the max value) 2nd Long press turns off the MAX function Now a quirk. Safe (green), Alert (orange), Avoid (red). I started looking around at other devices and checking online for what are recommended "safe" values and that produced a number of different sites showing various ranges. I then discovered that the ranges are also variant depending which country you are in!!! desertcart has other EMF detectors which trigger Alerts at lower ranges than this unit. Some have ranges starting at .001 and even .0001 and max values way beyond the Alert triggering levels. Indeed this unit has max ranges way above it's triggering "Alert" values. Not sure where I could test this to reach a MAX value and not sure I want to be that close or around such devices anyway!!! So I guess the point I'm making is that for me, the range values are not so important because who knows what really is "bad" vs "good" numbers. If this unit beeps fast and turns red, I simply don't care what the number states on the display.. Clearly that's a problem. Even if it slow beeps and is orange, I'm still concerned. What I'm really using this monitor for is identifying how close do you have to be to items that start the counters increasing and identifying places where the device registers zero or close to when green. Basically, I can easily get the unit to register Alert by having the monitor touching certain devices (including the microwave). What I'm learning is don't let kids put there face up to things without first checking what is a safe distance for them. I don't intend to sleep on my microwave but I am also surprised how much energy the darn thing radiates when it's on. I'm also concerned about my mobile phone and how much energy that thing is putting out... So I do not use the phone next to my ear, nor do I use wireless ear buds... I have gone with wired because of the radiated numbers I get. I still cannot validate the accuracy of the unit. I have 2 other older devices and all 3 seem to give slightly different numbers. However, do I care which one beeps at what number? Nope... I simply know that all of them go crazy when next to Routers, TVs, LED bulbs, Microwaves, etc etc, and all stop when I move inches away from the device. I've no intent on sleeping or resting my head on any of those devices whether they are powered up or not!!! What I still like about this unit is the HOLD, MAX, triple onscreen display, the audible alerts and the visual color alert. The ability to turn off some of those features is nice but not essential in my usage. I still recommend this. ORIGINAL REVIEW ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I particularly like that depending on which tester exceeds various limits, the display will change from Green to Orange to Red. Readings seem valid but I have no way of verifying if the displayed readings are accurate or not. None the less, it does give readings that help identify concerns. Like for examples, safe distance from a Microwave, just how much RF energy is in the room with all the 5GHz RF in the house!!! I also tried it with my Samsung Phone and as I've always known for years, stick that mobile phone next to your ear and you WILL get a dose of RF.. That's why I only use the speakerphone or a I'll plug in a cabled headset!!! So it's a fun toy if nothing else which regardless of the accuracy of the readings (which I'm not questioning), does highlight things in the house that you should be aware of that give out energy that might not be good for you.
Review: Good range & high enough quality to use at home or on the job. - I bought this for work, but these are cheap insurance to see where the EMF radiation hot-spots are in your home. You don't want anybody's bed or sofa to be up against a wall where the signals are high- not just from cell towers, but electrical currents from wiring in the home- it will cause harm over time. Check anyplace you spend a good amount of time. Either relocate that bed, or create some space between it & the wall- an extra foot makes a difference. If you don't have a lot of options, make sure your head is at the safest distance.

## Features

- Detect 3 Types of EMF: Detects three common types of EMF: AC magnetic, AC electric, and microwave fields. Ideal for home, office, or areas near smart meters and cell towers
- Tricolor LCD & Alert: Tri-color LCD (green, yellow, red) clearly shows EMF levels. Audible alert sounds when readings exceed safe levels, helping families easily identify high-radiation areas
- Easy Handheld Operation: Compact and lightweight, easy to operate with one hand, perfect for quick EMF checks around your home
- Customizable Settings: Mute the buzzer for quiet environments and enable or disable auto power-off to save battery while performing extended measurements.
- The device features an automatic shutdown after 15 minutes to save battery life. If you need continuous measurement, you can disable the APO function: Press and hold the "APO" button to turn off the auto power-off feature
- Clear Illuminated Screen: Tri-color LCD with backlight ensures visibility in low-light conditions. For accurate results, hold device in hand; placing on surfaces may affect readings. Easy for anyone to use without professional training.
- When measuring the electric field, it is essential to hold the device in your hand. This is because the human body acts as a grounding source, ensuring more accurate readings. If the device is placed on a surface, the measurements may be inaccurate due to environmental interference
- Why You Need This EMF Meter This EMF meter helps you detect and identify areas with higher levels of electromagnetic activity in your home or workplace.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it detect EMF from smart meters reliably?**
A: YES. Most smart meters operate in the RF range (typically 900 MHz to 2.4 GHz), and this EMF METER is designed to detect signals within that range.

**Q: Why are the readings unstable or inconsistent？**
A: The readings may vary depending on the electromagnetic environment and how the device is positioned. We recommend holding the device steadily in one orientation (either vertical or horizontal) and avoiding sudden movements during measurement.

**Q: Can it be used to measure radiation from WiFi routers?**
A: Yes, it can detect RF radiation from WiFi routers, including both 2.4 GHz and most 5 GHz signals.

**Q: Can it detect radiation from microwaves?**
A: Yes, this EMF meter can detect radiation from microwaves as it is designed to measure radio/microwave fields.

**Q: Why is the backlight on my EMF meter screen not working?**
A: The backlight may be accidentally turned off. Press and hold the power button to try turning it back on.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everyone should have one

Let me start by saying this is the first EMF reader I've ever purchased. It's eye opening to see how much radiation is happening on things that I would have never known. There are definitely better quality ones out there, but for the price point I'm very happy with my purchase. Who would have thought my feral cat house was giving off this much radiation even when it was off? And that my air purifier was getting off radiation even when UNPLUGGED! I looked it up and my Wi-Fi router throws off frequencies and the purifier picks it up (they were pretty close together). Now I'm able to make necessary changes, like a battery operated clock next to where I sleep instead of one plugged in. It's amazing how many things are giving off frequencies. And how the smart meter throws it off through my wall from the outside. EMF definitely affects us. My naturopath doctor wanted to rent me one for $50! Now I own my own for under that. I'm still learning how to use it. But if you're looking to identify harmful frequencies, I definitely recommend!
