A: No, basically it just cleans off surface dirt

**Q: my white gold diamond ring has tarnished already, does this get rid of the yellow tinge/tarnish.**
A: Not really, I was told by a jeweller that all white gold yellows eventually.  Jewellers can restore the whiteness at a cost, I was quoted around £40 from memory, so I bought this stuff and it certainly improved the appearance of my rings, the cloth was black first time I used it!
