## Description

Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs is an effective and affordable treatment for skin scaling caused by seborrhea, mange and other parasitic infections, and fungal infections. With an easy treatment regimen of shampooing 2-3 times per week initially and then less frequently as skin improves, you can give your pet relief from symptoms including an inflamed scalp, greasy skin, rashes, and scaly skin similar to dandruff that are caused by seborrhea (most commonly caused by bacterial or yeast infections). The veterinary-grade ingredients in our topical bottle of antiseborrheic and antiparasitic shampoo for dogs help treat, hydrate and relieve multiple skin conditions such as seborrhea, mange, parasitic and bacterial infections. Powerful ingredients like salicylic acid, coal tar and micronized sulfur help treat the condition, while colloidal oatmeal and allantoin hydrates skin and promotes healing. You can also use this antiparasitic mange shampoo for dogs with other topical spot-on flea and tick treatments. Great for pets with allergy-prone and yeasty skin! We know that your dogs are more than just pets - they are part of the family - so Veterinary Formula Clinical Care designs premium medicated products that pet parents can actually afford. Your dog will feel fast acting relief from skin infections and you’ll notice that your dog’s skin is calmer, less inflamed and the itching is controlled – making you both happy and able to focus on more important things like walks, fetch and snuggles. It’s important to determine the cause of the underlying issue, so please consult your veterinarian if skin issues become a consistent problem. Due to the coal tar content of this shampoo, we do not recommend its use on cats. Salicylic acid contains 2%

Review: Great product, it really works. - No doubt it is an expensive bottle of shampoo, but it really works. My dog had a bald spot above his eye and a few under his chin. Used twice a week for three weeks. Hair started growing back the second week, and now he's back to normal. So it's worth buying it. It smells OK, and he tolerated the waiting with on for 15 mins well. And he hates being washed, so was very surprised.
Review: Impressive! No more mange! - It’s been 10 days today and the mange is almost gone. I used a combination of DermaPet" Benzoyl Peroxide Plus Shampoo (DermaBenSS); Davis Benzoyl Peroxide Medicated Dog & Cat Shampoo, Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs, and Nu-Stock. I’ll outline what I did in a second. Some background: My 10 year old boxer contracted what looked to be demodectic mange. She got bumps on her skin, some large, some smaller. They would start leaking pus, then crust over, and when they scabs came off, she’d have a dark, calloused patch of bald skin. She wasn’t terribly itchy. And she didn’t get stinky. The sores were mostly on her back. Granted, this wasn’t the worst case of mange, by a longshot. She’d recently had two procedures under general anesthesia and I wasn’t keen on the idea of subjecting her toxic dips and other potentially harmful meds, especially given her age. So first I tried the Listerine & baby oil route. Didn’t really help. Then I switched to Borax, hydrogen peroxide and water. That helped a little, but I had to go out of town for a week and couldn’t treat her. When I got back, she looked worse and had more bald patches. She also had a new oozing sore. I read up on desertcart and chose the four products I mentioned earlier: DermaPet" Benzoyl Peroxide Plus Shampoo (DermaBenSS); Davis Benzoyl Peroxide Medicated Dog & Cat Shampoo, Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs, and Nu-Stock. First, I washed her as directed with the benzoyl peroxide shampoos. These shampoos are supposed to flush the pores out and clean out the gunk. I used this step to essentially prep her skin for the following two steps. FYI – DermaBenSS lathers up more and has a coconut-y scent, but Davis seems just as good. I used a little of both. I didn’t need a lot of shampoo. Just remember, these shampoos don’t lather up like regular shampoo, so don’t keep putting it on thinking you need more. I think of this stuff more like a benzoyl peroxide face wash. (Those don’t really later up either.) I kept the shampoo on for 10 minutes, massaging the shampoo into her fur (not scrubbing – I didn’t want to hurt her). Then we rinsed. It’s very easy to rinse off if you don’t gob it on. After that, I used the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs. This one lathers up much more. I think the benzoyl peroxide shampoos really allowed this stuff to get in and work its magic. I followed the directions and kept it on for 15 minutes. It smells medicine-y. Again, massaging it into her fur. After that, we rinsed and towel dried, then pup shook and rubbed against the length of the furniture a dozen or so times. After she dried off a bit more, I put out a waterproof blanket and got out the Nu-Stock. I read lots of reviews about the smell so I was expecting something horrible. It’s not perfume, that’s for sure, but it’s really not as bad as I expected. It smells pine-y and medicine-y, with a bit of sulfur in there. It dries chalky and it can be greasy, so be careful of your furniture. That’s why I put the waterproof picnic blanket on my bed. I applied Nu-Stock directly to her new sores and recent scars, but also spread it over her back where there were quite a few recent scabs. I did this by thinning the Nu-Stock with baby oil, and using an old hair dye brush to make sure the solution got in good contact with her skin. The Nu-Stock sticks pretty well, so your pup might look a little odd with the yellow stuff on her coat. Again, I think the benzoyl peroxide shampoo helped prepare her skin so she could get the full benefit of this product. I repeated this process every three days. On the third and fourth washes, I started using a washcloth to make sure every part of her skin was cleaned properly. Again, not scrubbing, just washing gently. All told, she’s been washed and treated with Nu-Stock 4 times. And OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE. 1. No new sores have popped up, for the first time since she contracted this horrible condition 2. The open sores have healed with new pink skin, not the dark, calloused hard skin that usually appeared when scabs fell off 3. Hair is growing back nicely – even on the older scars This treatment actually makes her coat shiny. Today, she actually seemed like she felt better after her bath – she was romping around like a puppy. I am so grateful to these companies for their amazing products. I think using all these products in tandem made for my pup’s quick recovery. I’m never going without these. As long as I have a fur baby, my cupboard will be stocked with these fantastic products!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I see that it says effective against fungal problems, but is it only to ease the symptoms, or will it actually kill fungus?**
A: Unlike the answer that said there is Ketoconazole in it, there is not. The Ingredients are Coal Tar, Salicylic Acid & Micronized Sulfur, Colloidal Oatmeal and Allantoin. Nothing in it will kill yeast or fungal. I think it might just make them smell better for a day or so but not actually get rid of it or even help. I bought it thinking it would help with my dogs yeast smell on their paws, but after using it three times a week and finding it did nothing I checked the bottle for the ingredients. I should have done that in the beginning, but for some reason I didn't. I just went by the bottle. If your dog has really smelly paws like mine and they are really beyond what is considered normal, then get something with Ketoconazole in it. There are some shampoo's here on Amazon that do have that in them. I'm going to be getting some myself.

**Q: Can this be used for ringworm**
A: I've had best luck with washing areas daily with wash rag & rinsing with clean water. I think it will treat ringworm if used daily. It's really not hard to do. It takes me about 15 minutes to wash areas & rinse off without a complete bath everyday.. I just do a complete bath about once a week. I use Hot Spot Medicine from discount store also. Good luck. It's healing my dog & I'd spent hundreds of $ at the vet on medication.

**Q: How does this compare to EQyss Micro-Tek Medicated Pet Shampoo?**
A: Hi Emily. SynergyLabs Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic & Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo contains different active ingredients compared to Micro-Tek Shampoo. Salicylic Acid, Coal Tar & Micronized Sulfur combine in a powerful medicated shampoo proven effective in treating Seborrhea, parasitic and fungal infections. Also contains Colloidal Oatmeal and Allantoin to hydrate skin and promote healing. It also uses paraben, DYE and soap free formula. It is however safe to use only on dogs.I hope this answer helped.

**Q: Could you please provide the full list of ingredients?**
A: The last ingredient is Propylene Glycol and that is why I will NOT buy this stuff. This is what it is... Propylene Glycol: Derived from natural gas and used in the automotive industry, propylene glycol is used as a humectant causing moisture retention by coating the hair shaft and preventing water from escaping. Propylene Glycol is a strong skin irritant as well as a liver and kidney toxin.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely recommend
*by A***R on 15 February 2026*

Its been 3 months, and I'm really impressed with this shampoo, my dogs skin had been awful for a long time and was given apoquel from the vets but even though that stopped the itching it didnt clear up the problem, which is a yeast infection. The shampoo isnt an over night cure but it 100% helped from the first wash easing her itching & redness. But you have to be dedicated, I bathed my dog 3 times a week at first, from December, making sure to leave it on in a thick lather for 15 mins (dog not impressed) its now February and I am now at 1-2 baths a week. Her skin is 80% better, her ears are prob still the worst area but obviously I cant put too much shampoo on there and our other dog licks her ears when we arent looking! :| In the first 2 months I was also using a antiseptic powder for dogs twice a day morning and night to dry up that greasy yeastiness in between baths (and after she was dried after her baths) but now on month 3 that hasnt been needed as shes not getting the damp wetness under her belly now. I will keep using this shampoo weekly for a while and then I will prob always use this on her and its been so good and really cleans well. So yes, 5/5 but be consistent leave it on for at least 15 mins, and you will see results. I stopped the apoquel in January as id been told it affects the immune system so that wouldn't help my dog try fight off the yeast infection. She still scratches a bit but no where near as much and isnt making herself sore. I also make sure to wash her bed at least weekly. I have a couple I can swap out to do this. First 3 pics before, last 3 are now.
