As with all raw materials, each batch of ingredients received by Pure Encapsulations is tested upon reception for identity, potency (if applicable) and contaminants, which can include heavy metals, residual solvents, allergens, pesticide residues and others depending on ingredient and level of risk. **Q: How big are the pills? Easy to swallow?** A: They're capsules and they're pretty big. But since they're soft-ish and smooth, I don't have any trouble swallowing them. If you do, you can open the capsule and pour the contents in something to drink. The taste isn't great, but it's not horrible. They also have a buffered ascorbic acid powder so you don't have to deal with opening capsules. That's what I've switched to in order to mix it with other things.
