With a built-in phono stage, this turntable can connect to the accompanying speakers, which also houses a built-in amplifier, to produce an easy set-up turntable and speaker combination, ready to plug and play with no need for anymore equipment, just add Vinyl! The speaker's Bluetooth connectivity is also compatible with any Bluetooth enabled device, so they can be used independently to the record player too. The speakers also have an extra input so you can connect your laptop, pc, tv, smartphone etc. The Active speakers are housed in 100% medium-density fibreboard (MDF), this bookshelf speaker is built to resist resonance. Arrived quickly, very well packaged. Easy to set up, and even easier to use. looks and sounds great. My only slight criticism is that the volume control doesn't have enough lower end, it goes from fairly loud to silent without a subtle low volume in between. Everything else is so good that it's still worth five stars. Highly recommended. I have now contacted customer service about the lack of low end volume. They responded straight away, saying that this is how these speakers operate. They offered to collect my speakers and provide an upgrade to the R1280DB version with better low end volume control and a remote for an extra £40. I thought this was a good response from them, but decided to stick with the setup that I have. If you wantb a system that allows you to chat with people whilst music plays in the background, this bit of information might be useful to you. Still five stars, and the same for customer service too.
