They are excellent value for your money, they are true to size, and come with installation screws for joining them, however I didn't use them. They do not come with a controller to connect too, so you will have to have to buy a controller if you don't have a computer to connect it too. Overall, I think it's compatible for any environment. I needed a replacement cooling fan for the Alpicool refrigerator in my wife’s Jeep and I bought this unit at Amazon’s suggestion. I installed this fan and it powered up but then the controller for the fridge threw an error code and the unit shut off. Upon closer inspection I saw that the original fan pulls 0.3 amps and this one pulls 0.6 amps. Not a huge difference but enough to run afoul of the controller. Swapped it out for a different fan rated at 0.3 amps and now we’re back in business.
